The location is good although no parking and no pavement outside

THERE WAS A MOUSE IN MY ROOM. The room was very noisy with creaking floor boards, toilet system made noise all night and road. The hall light never turned off so light came in under door all night. Bed uncomfortable and small. All of that I could have got on with but the mouse… I heard a noise the first night and on my third night I heard it again and found a mouse in my room. I called the number on booking.com and someone answered and they came quickly and proceeded to grab the mouse in their hand until it stopped moving and left. Suggested I bought the mouse with me. This was at. 1.30am and I then had a sleepless night, feared what illnesses the mouse may have brought. They didn’t apologise for the mouse or contact me the next day when I checked out. I had to chase and chase for a refund and to update my next booking. I could have maybe moved past it if they had dealt with the situation professionally but I then had to spend loads of time chasing them while they emailed me asking for reviews and payment for my next booking… well here is your review. This might have been avoided if you had been responsive or shown care…. I understand things happen but this seems unreasonable to me. Extremely poor situation and hygiene concerns and then the situation was not handled with care. They did offer a 1 night refund and allowed me to cancel an upcoming booking but I feel this is the least they could have done.

Location in town was ideal.

Shower was very small and slippery. The temperature was very difficult to regulate. TV reception was poor. Parking was not free, in fact quite expensive. Qns about parking were not answered.

Clean bare wooden floor, which I liked as I have asthma and carpets can be problematic. Comfortable bed. Good heater in room.

The window latch was locked with no key, so it couldn't be closed. It was a cold, windy rainy night, but I had to sleep with window open because of this. Luckily the radiator was hot so I could keep the room at a reasonable temperature.

Location. Clean and comfortable

Said to have nearby on street parking. But not very close or easy. I ended up paying £8 for overnight parking several minutes walk away. And the guest house is on the main road with no pavement by it and double yellow lines both sides.

A microwave in the room downstairs would have been helpful

Location was perfect! Room was comfortable. Room had everything you needed and there was space downstairs if you wanted to sit and eat/socialise.

Parking! £15 for 24hrs, if you move during the day you are not guaranteed a space when you get back. Not enough overnight spaces for people staying!
