The Lady Maxwell Room at Buittle Castle

I had a great stay. Warmly welcomed by the host. The bed in the Lady Maxwell room is extremely comfortable with good quality linen so I slept very well. Breakfast was served in the room by the host, as I had my dog staying with me, and it was lovely. There is a short walk down by the river for the dog and a nice, more strenuous walk up the track. Exceptionally quiet and chilled place, full of character and charm.

Over time perhaps the shower could be improved, but it did not detract from my stay at all, and would not affect my recommendation or indeed having a return visit.

What a wonderful place with wonderful hosts. the whole feel of Buittle is lovely plus with a wood burner in the room it just adds to the experience. Excellent breakfast served in the room was the cherry on the cake. Go and try it - you won't regret it.

A really unique and authentic experience. The owners are really hands on, accommodating and super responsive to host you in thier property.

Breakfast was a little disappointing not in terms of ingredients more the cooking style, presentation! Good effort overall though, service was fabulous and friendly!!

The room was beautiful and had everything you could need; Tobias was so friendly and helpful; the breakfast was great and catered to our dietary requirements; and the location was gorgeous and really peaceful. All in all, it was a wonderful stay and we won't hesitate to book again next time we're in the area.

Breakfast and dinner were very good. The dining room is a wonderful, historic hall. We we served by the owners, who could not have been more helpful and accommodating.
