A warm welcome , very dog friendly. A beautiful place to stay , very peaceful with little walks on your doorstep, ideal for the dog . Sue and Johnny greats hosts .

Er viel niet echt iets tegen. Enkele verbeteringen zouden nog wel kunnen: de kamer voor onze komst al voorverwarmen. Er is een toegangspoort tot het domein. Deze moest je zelf gaan opendraaien. De wegbeschrijving die we in de e-mail ontvingen maakte dat we enkele rondjes in het dorp maakten Suggestie om er een getekend plannetje bij te voegen.

Very friendly welcome from the hosts daughter as they had to nip out. The location was excellent along with a good cooked breakfast with a great selection. Hosts were attentive and there when needed. The room was unique and charming with fantastic furniture and flagstone flooring.

A very friendly welcome when we arrived, a really cosy room, comfortable bed, fantastic shower, and delicious breakfast big breakfast with lots of choice. We only stayed one night, but wished we could've stayed longer! We will definitely be staying again in the future so we can properly take in the stunning bnb and its surroundings.

I was really dissatisfied with the breakfast that was served. The poached eggs were undercooked with the whites being runny and translucent. The thought of eating the ‘snotty’ whites made me feel sick. The hash browns were freezing cold in the middle - leading me to wonder if they had been frozen and were not defrosted or cooked properly. The mushrooms were lukewarm as if they had been kept on hold since the other guests had their meal before me. I had booked breakfast for 8.15 a.m. It was served fifteen minutes later, sufficient time, I would suggest, for the poached eggs to be cooked. The breakfast was inedible. I was also disappointed by the lack of yoghurt or fresh fruit like blueberries and strawberries which normally are on offer for breakfast at Powdermills B & B. I was not given an explanation as to why this was not the case this time.

The host, John, made me feel really uncomfortable. When I entered the kitchen/dining room he greeted me but he never said anything else like had I slept well, where to sit or to help myself to cereal and fruit juice. John only spoke to me twice after that: once to tell me that the had to cook the poached eggs and the second time was a one word answer to a question I had asked. I sat a few yards away from kitchen area and was close enough for a conversation to take place. I genuinely had not realised that I had not paid the £10 cleaning fee for my dog assuming this had been taken when my payment was made days before my stay. The host never asked for this cleaning fee upon my arrival or during the entire time I stayed at the B & B. Had this been the case, I would have paid the fee without any qualms. However, within forty eight hours of arriving home, I was sent two emails by Powdermills B & B demanding payment for the cleaning fee. I had hardly had time to unpack and draw breath let alone answer the many emails there I was sent when I was away. Since then, I have been sent a further two emails totalling four in all within a period of six days.

This was a very last minute booking as the original property we were booked in for that night had lost all power through the storm. We have stayed here before and it is a small lap of luxury with the nicest of hosts who work hard to keep the standards high. Room was very spacious and en suite bigger than some places I have stayed . Power shower and lovely soft fluffy towels. Beautiful large double bed in a warm and comfortable room with plenty of storage. Breakfast delicious. Lady of the house even prepared us afternoon tea upon arrival with home made scones. Spoilt? I'd say.
