Swan House

Had to leave very early for an event, before breakfast would have been served. The stay was very pleasant, though necessarily short. The proprietor was so pleasant and welcoming and, as I expected of the locals, of which I was one before moving to Somerset 63 years ago, were of the same character. The view from the room window of the Cleveland Hills at dawn was delightful. The room was absolutely spotless with all facilities in perfect condition. Coffee and tea were provided, together with biscuits which seem to have disappeared for the well-known 'budget chains. The shower contained shampoo, etc, all bottles being full. In all, staying at 'The Mucky Duck' as my late father knew it was very pleasant and I would recommend it thoroughly.

Very convenient being just off the main A19 to break our journey. No traffic noise in our chalet but lovely views over the fields to the hills. Our host was very friendly and made us feel welcome. We sat outside in the evening. Lovely cooked breakfast.

The staff were extremely welcoming. The accommodation was exceptionally clean and tidy. The room and en-suite were bright and airy. The breakfast was extremely good and definitely value for money.

Charming host. Secure parking. Chalet style family room with shower was clean and warm.

We needed a good place for Crathorne Hall and Hutton Rudby , this location was ideal . Beautiful surroundings , warm welcome and a very comfortable room . Clean , nicely presented , cosy and with tea / coffee etc . Would be good to highlight the availability of breakfast as we hadn’t realised ! Sorry if we missed that detail .
