B&B Al Dom

The B & B was lovely and directly on Lake Orta with a yard and dock in front of the property where you can sun, read, do yoga or just watch the calmness of beautiful lake Orta. The owners are top hospitality people who really care and make you feel right at home. We Loved the delicious Breakfast ! Every morning you wake to the incredible small of baked croissants from the kitchen. We fell in love with Orta and have traveled extensively. We would highly recommend this B & B … it truly is the Best place you can stay when visiting the area. Trust me !

Al Dom is a special place. The hosts, Massimo and his wife Genny, have thoughtfully restored a once vacant property to its original charm. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and gorgeous views of the garden, lake, and Isola San Giulio. Our room was beautifully decorated with large armoires, modern bath amenities and extra touches like cookies and soft slippers. Our bed was very comfortable with two types of pillows and plenty of support. The property also includes cozy, well-kept gardens where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. The b&b is very “hygge”. A delicious buffet breakfast is served each morning from 9-10am with soft-boiled eggs, meats, cheeses, lots of bread, yogurt, and the best fruit salad EVER. They also have non-dairy milk and yogurt if you are lactose intolerant. If you visit, I recommend asking about the boat and considering a boat ride. Massimo speaks fantastic English and will share about the area surrounding the lake. Also be sure to enjoy the lake view from the lower deck. Our stay was in October and the weather was great! I think it would be nice to visit year-round. You can swim in the crystal clear lake when it’s warm (we hopped in, but it was chilly!) and there are ski slopes nearby if you come in early winter. The host provides a map and local recommendations upon arrival. Our favorite place for dinner was Pane & Vino. The entire peninsula is easily walkable. You could probably see everything in a few days, but you will want to stay longer!

lake front location with lovely seating areas, deck, access to swimming in the lake. lovely rooms. easy walk to restaurants. friendly hosts and breakfast was fresh and plentiful. host came to collect us with our bags, gave us parking space and made it very easy when we were delayed arriving. nothing too much trouble.
