The Black Dog Inn

This place was amazing, the room deco, the bed, the little luxuries in the room added that bit of vip feeling, nepresso coffee machine and pods and water was such a nice touch, also the toiletries and having a flannel each even. The shower was amazing. We then went for our evening meal which was unreal, husband had the cheeseburger and chips and I had the chicken, avocado and bacon burger and chips, omg!!! Unreal. We slept amazing in our bed, best night sleep and then the breakfast in the morning was unreal too! The owners/ staff were really friendly and helpful and you get such a good feeling that they really care that you enjoy your stay. We will defo be back!!!! And for longer this time as unfortunately we just stayed one night on way to our next destination but didn’t want to leave. Free parking too!

The interior is superb and belies what you think what you will get because the outside is ordinary

We recently stayed at this hotel and it was such a pleasant experience. They had complimentary coffee and tea which was just what we needed after our journey. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful, so tasty and filling. But what really made our stay special was the lovely lady who served us. She was so friendly and took the time to suggest a few local attractions, which turned out to be great recommendations. The room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, plus the scenery was amazing. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in the area!

No faults except we had no electricity during the night but they looked after us

Warm and friendly welcome after a long day of travelling. Excellent bedroom with great facilities. The added touch of fresh milk for a hot drink was brilliant. Excellent breakfast the following morning with locally produced sausages and bacon. Would definitely recommend and would use again for an overnight stay.

Only stayed one night and got there quite late, room is lovely and nice little touches, and the Friday burgers were excellent, breakfast was also lovely. I’m not sure of their names but the lady with red hair in the evening and the lady who served us at breakfast were so lovely.

WOW what a exceptional place to stay, from start to finish our stay was fantastic! Food was exceptional and the room was spotless. Both lauren and Tom were attentive and excelled with their service! Barman (Dad) Corky was a lovely person was great too! Beautiful place and beautiful people. We will be back soon x If your looking for a little break in the middle of no where and away from the rat race then this is the best place! Good food, great company and great place to stay!
