B&B La Goletta di Salina

Lower price - it's a great value despite some negatives; with a higher price I'd give it a 7. Great breakfast, fridge in room, hot water kettle and tea, laid back location, super quiet at night, two steps to the only beach in town.

The 2 rooms downstairs are pretty dark, while I imagine the two upstairs are much better. They can be noisy when the older lady who takes care of the place (not Simona - I did not meet her until my second morning and she's great) endlessly talks on the phone outside your door. She is actually very sweet, but comes off a little unfriendly on the outside. You may have to wait to get into your room or check out, as no one is around most of the day, so that can be a little stressful. Breakfast was served late on my second day, but she rushed when I told her I needed to leave for the ferry shortly. I think they are just used to being very casual/relaxed and on "island time", even more so than the rest of Sicily, but they are kind and do mean well :).

Our host, Simona, was incredibly helpful and friendly. She made our stay very pleasurable with wonderful recommendations.

The room was a little dark with only one doorway for light, but it was still ok.

La Galetta was a fantastic place to stay in. Comfortable, clean, great views, central and easy to go anywhere. The host Simona was friendly, polite and very helpful. She answered all our questions and helped us with our touring options. We would definitely stay there again.

La Goletta was a charming B&B right at the water. Sunrise through the front gate over Panera was exceptionally beautiful. Simona was a wonderful host and provided a tasty breakfast including some of her own homemade jams. She secured reservations at nearby restaurant for a delicious dinner and arranged transport to a fantastic wine estate on the island she had recommended. The room was very comfortable and the shower was especially wonderful.

We cannot think of any issues with our stay.

For travellers who are happy about a silent place that is a bit different - but beautiful!
