Katrien and Patrick are faboluos hosts. They helped us a lot with their recommendations especially for Caminito del Rey, and Mercado Victoria/Cordoba. The view is grandiose from the terrace, meanwhile you have the rich breakfast. After a hot summer day, enjoy the pool with cold drinks. Do not miss to look up to the stars at night, as well. :-)

You are not allowed to take your own food to the place, but it is understandable and acceptable.

Place very clean. Amazing view from the terrace and room windows. Very tasty and varied breakfast. Nice owners who try to make your stay pleasant.

Unfortunately, on the spot we found out that we cannot use our own drinks and our own food. The idea of ​​an open bar where you can buy drinks seems great to me because everyone will find something for themselves, unfortunately the idea of ​​not bringing own food is a strange situation in my opinion. I wouldn't complain if food was available on site every day to buy, however, the owner does not serve dishes every day. This little issue can make an impact on the whole stay. We received e-mails about this after booking, unfortunately the message was not read by us and there was a misunderstanding that made the stay not as wonderful as it could have been

If you want to find quite and beautiful place, then this is the right one. This place has everything you could ask for. Very friendly owners, who welcomed us very warmly. We would really recommend to visit this beautiful place for several days. Place is close to different attractive places such as Caminito del Rey. If we return to Malaga, we would visit this place once more. It was perfect!

Katrien and Patrick, the soul and heart of La Sorpresa along with their two dog soulmates Rose & Syl, made us feel like home during our one week stay in Andalucia. The location, the services, the food, the atmosphere when all guests gathered during dinners around the same table on the terrace, which is overlooking Valle de Abdalajis and the surroundings, were just perfect. Katrien & Patrick - many thanks for all your recommendations/tips regarding the hikes and sites we've explored in Andalucia. La Sorpresa is spotless, situated on a hill above the white Valle de Abdalajis village (pueblo blanco). All bedrooms are at the upper floor, above the kitchen area and the terrace and they all have a marvelous view towards the surroundings. Parking is large enough to accommodate all the cars of the guests. La Sorpresa is a quiet location which very close to Malaga, Antequera and also some very famous hiking trails (El Torcal and Caminito del Rey) or Lobo Park which we encourage you to visit. From La Sorpresa we have easily reached many other destinations of Andalucia via our rented car.

Everything! La Sorpresa is a home away from home. It was the perfect start to a wonderful vacation. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing. Katrien and Patrick are wonderful people who are very warm and welcoming. Breakfast and dinner were excellent and we had a wonderful evening with everyone sitting around one big table. They put a lot of effort into answering all of one's questions. We loved the coffee and the friendly little dogs, and of course, the million-dollar-view over the small village. Hopefully, one day, we will return. Thank you very much.

La Sorpresa = the surprise. And sure this is! Beautifully situated B & B with a view to die for. The room was spacious, beautiful, clean, the bed also very spacious (I was searching for my wife!) and good. The bathroom brandnew, spacy and clean. Lovely shower. And last but not least: Patrick and Katrien are very kind and helpful with good (hiking)tips of the erea, a breakfast I would like to have at home. The swimmingpool is cleaned every day and you can sit everywere round the house, if you are looking for some privacy

It could not be better.

The place is absolutely wonderful! The view over the valley is stunning (the sunset is a must) and the house is comfortable and extremely clean! Katrien and Patrick welcomed us with a drink and some advices on the area. The breakfast was fresh and fully loaded with plenty of choices 👌🏻 The village close by has some nice restaurants options and Katrien also propose to cook a meal on site (we unfortunately couldn’t try it as one of us is vegetarian). There are plenty of spaces to relax around the property. They have drinks and snacks that you can buy to rest and enjoy the view with a nice glass of wine.

Only downside for us is that after a few days on the road eating in tapas bars and having trouble finding vegetarian options, we wanted to make ourselves a cheese and wine picnic and just stay in and rest with the view. We were told it was forbidden to picnic at the house and bring our food. Too bad. but good info to know for future travellers ;)
