Everything was fabulous

Very friendly and helpful staff. Generally good communication through the booking process, etc. The location is good, tucked away just off the main street but within easy reach on foot of local shops, pubs, etc. I was also offered a free upgrade on arrival, which was unexpected and also very kind. Breakfasts were excellent too. I'd recommend trying the 'warm oats' one morning, as well as the full english. Not sure who made the jams and marmalades but they were superb! Breakfast is served from 8.30am which, for me, was a little later than ideal, as I had a 19-mile drive to work. I'm not sure if there was an option to book in earlier, as I never got around to checking... However, when I arrived at 8.15 and sat down, the staff were kind/understanding enough to serve me, so I could get on my way. There are three parking spaces at the entrance to the property (around the back of the building and through a fairly tight gap between building) but they were constantly occupied during my stay, so I had to park on the street outside. There are three designated spaces for 'BnB' out there, although again I only managed to park in one of those on the last of my five night stay, as presumably I was arriving back from work after other Chestnuts residents. However, it felt about as safe-a-village as you can reasonably expect these days and my car was fine out in one of the public spaces on the street for the other four nights.

I stayed in room 8, which was lovely. The only thing I'd say is that the door lock (don't worry folks, it was working!) was a bit 'loose' and I think needs to be fitted 'flush' so that when you lock your door behind you it is a snug fit. Had I not been in such a nice area, I would have worried more about that as a potential security risk.
