"Perfect location but room for improvement"

8.0

The location was SPOT ON! In the heart of Bourton on the water! If facing The Dial House, it’s on the right hand side, as no signs are present. Beautiful scenes. Plenty of restaurants, pubs, hotels, for drinks and food. Lots of amazing little shops too. The staff were super friendly and also the breakfast was good too. The room itself was presented nicely, I was impressed when I walked in, it was cute. They did a clean up service each day too. I asked for a little hamper as it was my husbands birthday and they displayed a cute one on the table in the room (at cost) which included prosecco and snacks and an added balloon! :)

Unfortunately the sound of the floorboards really let us down on every night :( we were in room 6 and you could hear every step above us, and everyone walking past our room. It woke us up everyday :( I think the rooms could do with black out blinds as well as keeping the curtains. Because soon as the suns up, the room is bright, causing disturbance to the sleep. The shower in room 6 could absolutely been a lot of powerful, when you’re in the actual shower the water flow was very light. The parking also is a little let down as not many spots available and also just said B&B parking on those available (maybe should say Chestnut B&B) as this can confuse people thinking is it for this B&B or maybe another one that’s around. Although if you don’t find a spot there are plenty of car parks not far at all, walkable, but have to pay. I think 2 days was around £35 and 3 days £55 and so on..

"A lovely comfortable short break"

8.0

Location was great, we received a lovely welcome and were shown to our rooms. Quirky but very comfortable rooms , also nice & warm to come back to after our days out. Breakfast was good, pre ordered by us each day for the following morning. Liked having use of a fridge near by to our rooms with fresh milk & bottled water.

Parking was difficult at property, but other parking was available close by. The TV in both of our rooms caused us some difficulties, one of the TVs was placed inappropriately on the wall which made it difficult to watch from the bed , ( really needs a moveable pull out hinge on the wall ), and the other rooms TV had persistent problems trying to access the apps particularly itvx & bbc iplayer.

Location was very good

The breakfast was tasty and plenty of it,however as its heated in microwave the egg was very dry, sausages could have been cooked a little longer as was very pale, juice glasses seem to run out quickly and had to wait for clean glasses, and juice seem to run out quickly as well, there should always be plenty for the amount of people that stay here

The location was fantastic right in the center which meant you could get out before the crowds and wonder around in the evenings when it was quieter.

Terrible stay it’s like a youth hostel

Dirty grubby b&b. TV not working shower took ages to come warm and a very small room even though I had supposedly paid for a delux one

Location and staff

It was up 3 flights of stairs and that was NOT mentioned on the website. The listing said there was parking but when we got there they said there are only 3 spots and it’s first come first served. They did find us a spot in the end.

"Great village, great breakfast, to many stairs"

8.0

Staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious. Snacks were left for us to munch on, staff got extra milk etc whatever was needed.

To many stairs, unfortunately on leaving to go downstairs my wife missed one step and fell, so has hurt her leg so we were unable to go to the national trust place we wanted to go to, so we had to head home instead, shower could do with a small shell inside for your shower gel etc as you had to put it on the base, but not much room to move in it. Only thing was the reception is in the dining area for breakfast, there was separate room next to it for other diners, just you have to go to either room to get your juice and toast and cereals, or the other for tea and coffee,, so the layout could do with altering. Or actually staff could get the tea and coffee for you, Another lady nearly missed a step into the lower dining area while I was heading back with our toast to the other room. Bed was comfy, windows were awful too see out in the morning as all steamed up as was only secondary glazing, decor of the room could be refreshed, only reason we wouldn't stay again is the stairs, we were lucky with the parking as they're are only 2 spaces and we got there around 3.15 and the 2 spaces were available, since we didn't go out again in the car for the 2 nights we were there we was ok for the parking..
