Location

The property is centrally located with easy access to the markets. There are good restaurants nearby. The owner of the property, Mr. Vishal Jain was very cooperative and helped us a lot to find our way around Solan. The property has an old world charm with its Victorian era architecture. Would strongly recommend the place especially if you are traveling as a family.

The property location is excellent and gives quiet a homely vibe with outdoor seating space. Also, breakfast was served hot with a tea (a bit expensive). Property owner Mr. Vishal Jain was courteous enough to allow us early checkup. Met our expectations, would definitely recommend it.

The double bed in the room was not king size.

It was a lovely heritage property that made me feel like it's a part of some old movie. If you enjoy and get nostalgic with heritage properties, this is the place for you. Mr Jain was very welcoming and cordial and the view fromt he lawn was the best part. Wish to go and stay there again, this time for a longer period

Though the setting is great and Vishal has maintained the era well, there is still a lot of scope for improvement. Our visit was limited to a night, and we only got to meet Vishal along with the help, Gopal. As the space is coming up right now, it meant we having to wait a while as the place can accommodate about 12-14 guests at a time. Probably by next year the 1st floor will also be functional (and hopefully more help available). Gopal ji did a phenomenal job of keeping things going, so don't get onto his bad side (haha). The garden looks into the school and into the valley and has a wonderful skyline to share. Vishal also is happy to share his stories so you won't feel bored at any point. Vishal has managed to keep 2 rooms in the same format as the Victorian era, sadly we didn't get a chance to see them. Though Google Map takes your through some random turns, Vishal was able to guide us well to help us reach the location and help us find a parking immediately outside the homestay.

The family room with Bathroom, was the space we booked. Though in our exp. it wasn't the same room as what we got - the Family Room with Balcony, post the review, we were informed that the room was the same in size, just not the one same floor. Maybe the price of the lodging could be increased slightly, but with breakfast included in their plan would be nice, as otherwise, the cost of eating was almost double of the stay. The bathroom tiles are beautiful. It was a bit of a challenge for us to wipe the floor post bathing as it was at the entry/exit. But that's also an experience in itself (nothing alarming). Google Maps does make it a task to reach, but cops and people below were also reasonably helpful - best is to just call the retreat. Though we were guided by Vishal, and Gopal even came down to help us climb to the retreat, it would be really nice if some signage could be given along with a better parking spot.
