The Thikana Heritage

The hotel is located in an area that is difficult or impossible to access by tuk tuk or car, the streets are very narrow, dirty, it is not pleasant to walk there. There is also a lot of noise in the neighborhood.

The property is magnificent with beautiful interior and exterior. The rooftop has a wide view of the blue city. The food is very good and delicious.

This was not suitable for family with little kids. Floor was uneven. My daughter who is 5 tripped over and bumped her head on the table. Room was congested. There was space for one person to sleep up in the room, which was unsafe for a kid to sleep as mattresses, which was single bed, was same level as boundary wall. No complimentary tea or coffee given. TV was covered and was not in use. We booked king size room with balcony. Balcony was not accessible as it was covered with mesh. The owner asked us to pay 1000 rupees more as we had kids for extra bedding which we didn’t ask for and included kids when we made booking. This place not accessible by car, even auto rickshaws can enter the streets, too congested.

The owners are a lovely couple, extremely helpful and kind. They arranged tuk tuk and tours for us, which we thought was really helpful. The location is right in the blue city and very close to the Fort walking path. The rooms are lovely from inside and decorated with an authentic heritage haveli feel. Nice rooftop area.

The entrance to the hotel passes through an alley which was extremely dirty with piles of garbage. It would be great if the hotel mgmt could try to proactively maintain that area cleaner. For westerners, we thought that the breakfast options were quite limited, pancake and fruits. Any loud conversations in the reception area can be a bit disturbing, especially if you're planning on sleeping till late, as sound proofing in almost all havelis is generally absent.

Owner is quite helpful. He arranged all site seeing pretty well.

A very unique hotel in that it's a heritage building. Very rustic and cosy. Manju and her husband are such warm and welcoming hosts. Would stay again.
