Casa San Giorgio Varenna

The place is in an excellent location. Quick walk to the lake and restaurants. Super convenient and excellent views from the Room and the rooftop view was amazing. Our host Elisa was amazing! The night before our trip, there was a landslide which caused part of the tunnel to collapse and the Train access to the city was cut off. The train station never informed us of this and there were no notifications on their website. We were instead forced to get off at the station 2 cities away without any heads up. Essentially us and a bunch of other tourist were left confused and scrambling to find out how to get to Varenna. The Train station office was also closed so we had no way of getting any assistance. I messaged Elisa to let her know of the situation while we try to find an alternate method of transportation and she instead came and picked us up 30 minutes away! This literally saved our trip as we only had 2 days booked.

Room was very tiny and the toilet attached with the wardrobe style doors. No TV in the room. Don't be fooled by the photos because the living romm with the kitchen is actually a shared area.

We loved our short overnight stay here, it was a fabulous little bnb in an excellent location at the piazza San Giorgio. The view overlooking the piazza was lovely but the view from the rooftop balcony was beautiful, absolutely stunning! The service from Elisa helping us with taxi and meeting us late was fabulous. She was so happy to help amd made us feel welcome 🙏 🤗 😊

The only thing I'd say could be improved is the curtain is not a block out and room was very bright all night. A block out blind or curtain would be helpful. Bathroom is small but not unexpected, had everything we needed.
