Casa San Giorgio Varenna

The location was perfect and the access to the community room, with wine and beer to purchase, was very convenient. Especially with the access to the roof where we could enjoy the views of Lake Cumo, the mountains and Varenna!!!

The air conditioning in the first bedroom was weak.

Breakfast was enough to get you started for the day. The views were amazing which added to the whole experience of Lake Como and Varenna. The location was away from the main crowds but still had a lot of atmosphere with the buildings and facilities around. The lake view suite was ideal.

The church bells were very loud at 7am but it was okay as I am an early riser.

The location was fabulous as it had great access to the water, restaurants and shops. The terrace had the most amazing view. Eliza was helpful.

The breakfast was poor.

accessibility of the train station, direct train from Milan to Varenna. perfect location & the best town to stay in the area. it’s the most picturesque & beautiful place. the best part of this accommodation was the amazing view from the roof top terrace! we were made to feel very welcomed.

nothing to report. close to everything, clean, breakfast provided, rooms were made up daily.

We loved everything about Casa San Giorgio! The location was perfect, the room very clean and comfortable, and most of all, the staff took very good care of us! We had booked a train from Milan to Varenna, but because of a landslide the train service to Varenna was suspended. The substituting bus and ferry connections were very confusing and kept changing all the time, but Casa San Giorgio's staff was so kind to pick us up from Lecco and drove us to Varenna! All in all a very good experience.

great location in the heart of Varenna. it is 12 minute walk from the bus/train station with a few stairs and walking uphill but not terrible. apartment is on the first floor so easy to transport luggage. it is 5 minutes to the lake, restaurants, and 8 minutes to the ferry station. there is a rooftop where you can have a glass of wine and enjoy the view. it’s very beautiful from up there! espresso was provided

we only stayed for two nights so we opted to not have our apartment cleaned daily since we would still be getting ready when the cleaners would need to arrive by 10am. however the host said she needed permission to access to water the plants… but there was one small plant in our apartment that could’ve been watered later on. light breakfast was included but it was just bread, cereal, milk and jam.
