Maison Serena Sorrento

The location was close to everything. The room was lovely and clean with everything needed. The host sent through valuable information and was very helpful! An absolute pleasure to stay here.

Clean, nice bathroom, quiet for the most part.

It’s a bit far and uphill from town. Good for a stay with views but if you have luggage be aware you’ll be traveling uphill with it. No staff onsite, everything has codes.

There was an issue with the hot water which the owner looked into, I think it’s an issue across many towns I stayed in South Italy. Location is good but keep in mind it’s uphill so walking from the center can be a bit of challenge

The room itself was nicely furnished and cleaned every day. We also received breakfast and coffee/tea refills. There is a small fridge in the room to store your own items if necessary. It is relatively quick to walk into the centre of Sorrento. The host was helpful in answering a couple of the questions we had although we had no physical contact with them.

Although the location is relatively close to the main town (15 minutes walk), if you are on foot you need to walk downhill into the town on a fairly narrow windy road. It is quite dangerous to do so with no pavement or footpath and cars driving quite fast down the road next to you. There were instances where we had to flatten ourselves against the wall to avoid oncoming traffic. I personally would not suggest this apartment if you plan to walk into town with children.

What was there not to like about this property? It is close to the town’s main plaza, yet is located in an area where guests will have the opportunity to mingle with local residents. The spacious and modern room had a comfortable bed, ample storage space for our belongings, great lighting, and a picturesque view of Mt. Vesuvius. The bathroom was spacious and modern as well, and I personally appreciated its powerful hairdryer and nice shower. Breakfast snack foods are provided and a coffee maker is available in the common hallway. My family and I happened to be in Sorrento to attend a wedding, and having access to a good iron was an additional plus. Our room was well cleaned every day by Nunzia and Maria Elena, our hostess, was so kind and attentive to our every need. In fact, Maria Elena shared with us so many tips and suggestions that made our stay in Sorrento pleasant and memorable.

My family and I loved everything about this property and highly recommend it.
