Location was great, host greeted us, he was very friendly

The room fulfilled my requirements very well - it was close to the Department of Engineering and Informatics at the University, which was where the meeting I attended was, and yet still within 20 minutes walk of the Piazza Maggiore in the city centre. Via del Pratello is full of small restaurants in the evening, which (although I didn't try any of them on this occasion) makes for a great atmosphere. The room was large and had a table I could use as a desk. Since Bologna was in a heat wave I was concerned the room might be too hot for sleeping, but the host provided a fan which was sufficient to keep it comfortable. And they also provided free Wifi which worked well. The host's daughter gave me a very friendly welcome and details by which I could contact her if necessary (it wasn't).

There's always some disadvantage in sharing a toilet/bathroom (maybe I hadn't read the description closely, but I hadn't noted that the bathroom was shared), but in any case it was shared with only one other person, so not a huge problem. And I'd understood that air conditioning was included, but in fact there was an extra charge for it (€10 per night, not excessive), but as mentioned it wasn't in fact necessary
