"Very reasonably priced guest house"

Good, quiet location on outskirts of Aso City. Convenient for visiting Mount Aso. Guests were able to help themselves to free hot drinks. Very close to a nice bakery! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Very reasonably priced.

"Loud ac"

I got the whole room to myself which is nice. The bathroom isn't bad.

The AC unit is INSANELY loud. I was basically unable to sleep at all the whole night I was there (if I turned it off it would be freezing). The place was kinda dirty. The dining room door couldn't be closed to prevent cold air from entering so you're basically eating your breakfast in freezing cold. Barely worth the price.

"Lovely guesthouse (very) out of the beaten track"

The hosts were so kind and welcoming. And there is an onsen!

Most people would choose this facility to make day trips to Aso. If you do not have a car, this is really not easy, since public transport is unfrequent and unreliable. You should also note that the guesthouse does not offer meals (breakfast neither)
