Zarafa House

Très bon accueil d'Ann. Séjour cocoon. Petit déjeuner très très copieux et de très bonne qualité, nous nous sommes régalés chaque matin. Et chaque jour, un petit déjeuner différent. Nous avons pris notre dîner également sur place, du choix, de la qualité et les plats sont très bien cuisinés. La chambre est très agréable, joliment décorée et spacieuse pour 3. Le jardin est trop mignon et très bien entretenu. Piscine nettoyée tous les matins. Beaucoup de services proposés. Nous avons passés 5 nuits chez Ann et nous nous sommes vraiment sentis comme à la maison 😊

Lugnt och skönt. Stora fina rum. Hjälpsam personal och ägare. God mat.. Promenadavstånd till stranden men lätt att ta tuktuk om man föredrar det.

Zarafa sa nachádza v blízkosti oceánu, da sa tu dostať peši za 10 min skratkou. V blízkosti je dobra mexicka reštaurácia, alebo potom na pláži. Prostredie je zasadené do krásneho prostredia s mohutnými stromami, krásnymi palmami. Bazén je kazdy den cisteny, úžasne lehatka a chutne- denne obmienajuce sa ranajky. Majiteľka sa o vsetko stará a vsetko, aby to bolo tip top. Veľmi príjemný a usilovný personál. Voňavé a priestranné izby so silným wifi.

Privítal by som na raňajkách nieco sladké ku kávičke ako je palacinka/croissant/ muffin ako sme sa stretli pri iných ubytovaniach v Keni. Pani hostitelka bola mila, ale držala si profesionálny odstup co moze pôsobiť chladne na niektorých hostí.

We had a wonderful stay at Zarafa House and would happily return. One thing to note is that Zarafa House charges an extra fee for air conditioning as part of their efforts to be environmentally conscious and to reduce unnecessary energy consumption. We chose not to take the A/C so we could adjust more quickly to the tropical climate, and we’re glad we did. The fan was more than sufficient, and after a few days we were fully acclimatized. Breakfast was a real highlight of our stay and quite different from what we usually experience. It’s neither a buffet nor à la carte — instead, every day brings a pleasant surprise. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful, with fresh juice, fresh fruit, and a main dish that changes daily, making each morning something to look forward to. We had read in some previous reviews that the place might lack a homely feeling, but that was absolutely not our experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome. The staff are warm, attentive, and always ready to help, yet they also give you the space and privacy to fully enjoy the peaceful tropical paradise. This balance made the stay feel genuinely comfortable and homely. Another eco-friendly initiative we appreciated is that the hot water is solar heated. It can take a little time for the warm water to come through, but we never experienced any issues and always had hot water whenever we needed it. Zarafa House is not beachfront, but the location is still very convenient. The nearest beach is only about a 10-minute walk away, and if you want to explore other parts of Diani Beach, affordable tuk-tuks are readily available. After a hectic day at the beach, it’s always lovely to return to the calm and serene atmosphere of the B&B. Finally, the B&B is set in a beautiful tropical garden, which adds a lot to its charm. As expected in such a lush environment, there may be insects around, but that’s simply part of staying in a tropical paradise.

We had a wonderful stay, the highlight here is the exceptional staff lead by Anne, who is a kind and attentive host that really tried to make us feel at home and help with any request. The room was spacious and the shower was good and hot. We loved the mosquito nets as we were being very cautious with malaria with my wife being pregnant. The breakfast is another highlight here. It changes everyday. You get a plate of fresh fruits and then whatever the chef is cooking that morning, plus coffee and a juice. It’s a big generous meal and sometimes we struggled to finish everything because it was so much food. There’s also a security guard 24/7 for peace of mind. You can book a massage, which I did. Anne helps with airport transfers and everything else you need. You’ll be looked after. I really recommend this place to all travellers.

The one thing we didn’t like was that you had to pay extra to use the AC in the room. This felt weird and off. When we booked the room, AC was listed as one of the room’s facilities, and we were looking specifically for this because of mosquito control. My recommendation is to adjust the fees slightly of the room to incorporate the AC energy cost. This didn’t ruin our experience and our stay by any means but this could be improved.

Beautiful location, amazing breakfast

It's a tiny insignificant thing but there's no official restaurant in the Hotel meaning you have to order your lunch at breakfast and your dinner at lunch. But it's a minor thing, overall it's a great place!
