Sandaru Surffing Inn

The best hosts there are, I felt like I had come home, they help with whatever is needed and are kind, full privacy, and if one day you get lazy, Sandro, the hosts' son (the owner of the house 😉) will make sure you have a fun day, located a minute from the sea, they offer to rent bicycles at a good price, and also really delicious meals, I planned to stay for a week and stayed for three weeks and I would have been happy to stay longer.

A nice place run by a really nice family. Especially the 12-years old son Sandaru that took my boyfriend to surf. The family is helpfull, the location is super and there is a nice small common area. Anddd they have a really nice dog called Thomas that loves cuddles. Only good things to say from us <33

Although their English wasn't great, the family was very friendly and welcoming at first.

The bathroom was filthy, having remains of soap and hair and other dirt from the previous guest. The towel looked as it had already been used. I asked the lady of the house to clean the bathroom. She threw some water on the ground and on the sink and that's it, leaving the very dirty things as they were. There were ants in one of the beds. The table in the balcony where the guests are supposed to eat, hadn't been wiped in ages. Also in the house you could tell that they don't know what hygiene is. In the evening my 8yo son was watching TV with the family and I took a shower. When I got out of the shower I noticed someone making a video of me through my bedroom window. I started screaming, opened the door and went after him. I could only see him running away into the area of the house. When I confronted the owners they said nobody was in there, and their oldest son was on the toilet. I took my stuff and left immediately. They first tried to convince me to stay, saying I could get another room, but I was determined. The lady quickly presented me the bill and the father didn't even get out of his couch or look in my direction to say goodbye. Something is very off here!!!!! I don't know who it was, but since their reaction it must be something that has happened before and they want to keep quiet. This felt VERY UNSAFE!!! The room was cheap and I don't mind if things are old, but the least you can do is keep it clean!

It is a family business and they treat tourists well and charge reasonable rates and are friendly with tourists. The food they prepare is also very tasty. The environment is beautiful and very safe. This accommodation is located 50 meters from the sea and close to Weligama town. The rooms are kept very clean and they run this business. They provided us with every facility we needed. We got more facilities than the price we paid. If we come back to Sri Lanka, we will not forget to come to this accommodation.

Price was 1200 lkr

I immediately had 1,000 rupees stolen from my wallet. The next day, I put the camera on, and it turned out that it was the hostess of the hotel who put her hand through the window and opened the door. She entered the room, looked around, and saw that the camera was pointed at her. She's gone. And the next day, I checked out of the hotel and told the hostess that I had a record and she should give me 1,000 rupees back. She returned the money to me. It's terrible, because I didn't go surfing because of this on the last day of my stay. There is no sense of security.
