Villa Sidu

We loved our 5-night stay at Villa Sidu. The family are so friendly and welcoming, preparing delicious and huge breakfasts every day to take on our own balcony. We also eat two lovely home-cooked dinners at the villa but there are several other nice restaurants nearby too with sunset views over the ocean. The room was spacious and clean with a small fridge and nice warm shower and A/C. The location is perfect. A short walk from the station, 2 minutes from the nearest beach at the bottom of the garden and 5 minutes walk from an even more spectacular beach (Bentona) where we could sit on loungers all day for the price of a couple of drinks from one of several beach cafes. We loved the sea with its crashing waves! We would definitely return and fully recommend to friends and family.

Stayed for two nights, loved it wish we could have stayed longer The family that run Villa Sidu are so warm and welcoming, going out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The room was large, bed was comfy. On opening the back gate of the property you are instantly on a beautiful beach. Sun loungers are available for guests in a quiet peaceful spot. The long beach has many restaurants and bars so plenty of variety for eating out. Breakfast was great, it was a wonderful place to end our stay in Sri lanka

Šeimininkų svetingumas ir nuoširdumas ❤️ Paruošė iš žvejo nupirktą lopsterį nemokamai. Davė daugybę patarimų ką pamatyt, kur gauti paslaugas, kur pigiau kur įdomiau, kur pavalgyt...davė papildomų indų, įrankių. Nuvežė ir parvežė nemokamai į plaukimą 6 ryto. Pusryčiai- kitokie nei visur, labai skanūs. Jauku, švaru, erdvu. Paplūdimys iš vis vertas atskiro įvertinimo. Kondicionierius garsus, matyt prašosi remonto, bet šeimininkas matosi nagingas, sutvarkys.

Eine Sehr reizende und fürsorgliche Familie und zu jederzeit hilfsbereit. Die.Dame des Hauses kümmert sich um jeden Wunsch. Tee, Kaffee, Früchte, toast, mit Ei, ein hervorragendes Frühstück. Und Dinner, auf Wunsch, sehr leckere SriLanka Küche. Schmeckt hervorragend und ist reichlich. Man sitzt vor seinem Zimmer umgeben von viel Grün und kann die Vögel und Streifenhörnchen beobachten. Zum Strand sind es nur wenige Minuten, aber die Liegen sind schon in die Jahre gekommen, der Platz.ist nicht einladend. Trotzdem empfehle ich die Unterkunft, weil die Atmosphäre am Haus mit der Familie sehr angenehm ist.

Den Platz am Strand könnte man schöner gestalten.

Great location, the hosts are very friendly and helpful, will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Villa Sidu for three weeks and we cannot say enough good things about the owners, location and wonderful meals. Himali and Jana are exceptional hosts who were warm and attentive. Himali would provide a wake up pot of tea at 7:00 a.m. each morning followed by a delicious breakfast of fruit plates, ‘egg roti’ and fried eggs. More tea would arrive at 3:00 p.m. and a dinner of our choice at six: curried prawns and rice or red snapper and French fries or Sri Lankan biryani. Jana was always standing by to take us into nearby Bentota for supplies or banking in his trusty tuk tuk. The location is excellent with the beach just outside the back door. Induruwa is a lot less populated and quieter than the upscale beach at Bentota. The accommodation is quite simple but comfortable. With the rates as reasonable as they are you will need to supply your own shampoo and soap. Towels (two sets) and sheets are changed regularly and the room cleaned two or three times a week. The two rooms at the back of the house, facing the beach, are a little more expensive but well worth the extra cost for their spaciousness, AC and running hot water. As inveterate travellers, we recommend Villa Sidu most highly.

What a great place to stay! A very large and comfortable room, friendly hosts, and almost beach top but with the bonus of a small bit of vegetation [about 50 metres] separating you from the sands through which runs a nice little footpath. The beach here is less rough than further East [where I have stayed before] so the swimming is more relaxed. I found this place by accident when another booking I had made was cancelled but it would certainly be my first choice next time around.

A real struggle to find any criticism. Maybe less volume but more choice over breakfast but it was still a very good breakfast.
