Humberto is such a wonderful human, lots of help for planning our day hikes/trekkings. He's super well connected to the whole climbing community so definitely worth staying here.

The hosts are here to help with whatever, Umberto is absolutely fantastic. They are very knowledgeable about climbing, hiking and mountaineering and the different options in the huscaran park and around. Whether you are looking for the touristic stuff or the more adventurous alone hike they will ne able to guide and they don't sell tours so you actually get genuine opinions as directions (which can be hard to get in huaraz). The hostel feels more like staying at a buddies place than an actual Hostal. It is super homie, super comfy, super Cosy. Full with climbers and nature lovers. Adrenaline seekers will be more than welcome but also people that are here to chill and rest. The kitchen has everything you will need. There are more bathrooms than needed and they are being kept clean. The lockers are absolutely gigantic which is great if you want to empty your whole backpack to go on long treks. The price is way under what it could actually be. Anyway overall the greatest Hostal I've stayed out in central and south America.

A towel could be included. No big deal but always nice.

I really enjoyed my stay at Quimir Packers! Humberto was a fun, personable host who helped orient me to take advantage of local hikes, day tours and rock climbing opportunities. There is such a wonderful vibe at this hostal, especially for backpackers into rock climbing and/or trekking who want to meet like minded people. I took full advantage of the well equipped kitchen, spacious common areas, hot water shower, lovely garden seating, and decent Wifi. There are big lockers, comfortable beds, and lots of interesting travelers to meet here! It's just a 10 minute walk to the bus station El Rápido and central touristy plaza or 20 minutes to the market. The neighborhood felt family oriented and very safe (there is actually a police station right next to the hostel)! Highly recommended as a jumping off point to take advantage of all the awesome outdoor experiences around Huaraz!

The bedrooms and bathrooms were great, perhaps some more deep cleaning could be done in the common areas.

One of my favourite hostel experiences ever. Humberto makes you feel like home from the first minute and gives you lots of recommendations for activities in Huaraz. He even took me rock climbing one day, had so much fun! Luckily I was staying at this place when I got sick for 2 weeks, I was taken care of in the best and sweetest way. Don't think that I ever was sick and still had so much to laugh about everyday haha. I already miss the little hostel family, especially the cutest andean lion of the world. The hostel is like a small family with incredibly dear two and four legged friends. There is a lovely kitchen, a small garden to soak up some sun and cosy seating. When I was sick, I was super looked after, which was super sweet! With the funny and generous Umberto, I was allowed to go on excursions with other guests. The atmosphere in the hostel is super cosy. The location is perfect, as it is close to Plaza Armas and in a quiet area. You can do your own laundry for 10 soles. You get a very warm welcome at the hostel, they always help you with your questions and give you a few more laugh lines. Thanks for everything and see you soon!

Wc-brushes in the toilets would have been practical and maybe a toilet paper dispenser, because we often ran out of paper. I would have liked it if our room had been vacuumed once, as there were leaves in it at the end. A shelf in the showers and in the bathroom would also be cool, so that you could put your nessesair on it or your fresh clothes.
