Ella River Front

The view is stunning. The owner was friendly. Typical Sri Lanka breakfast was rich and more than enough.

You will need a tuk tuk to go to Ella City Center. The owner called his friend but he was way to expensive for such a short ride. Maybe organzize someone by yourself :)

The views and staff were incredible!

The only complaint we have was that the shower was broken so it was a handheld shower, but the water was still hot!

The view from the room was definitely the highlight!

The light in the bathroom was broken. The bed was super soft and sagged in the middle. Breakfast was super basic - a huge pile of toast and one fried egg per person. The coffee was really bad.

The breakfast in the morning was out of this world. It was amazing. The view was wonderful.

The cleaning needs a lot of work. The pillows were old and need replacing and smell stale. Only 1 bed had an insect net. The shower drain didn’t drain properly. The tray filled up when the shower was running. The shower nozzle slide didn’t hold the nozzle in place, it slipped down low. There was no tv in the room (it was advertised to have a tv). There was a big dog poo by the entry on the 2nd day in the morning. it stayed there for 2 days and wasn’t moved. Not the fault of the property but there was loud music playing nearly until after 1am on our 2nd night. It was made it hard to sleep. Cash only accepted.

The room was big and very comfortable with a beautiful wooden bed. The balcony also had stunning views over a waterfall, you really can’t beat that! The breakfast was really delicious too and the table had views of the mountains and the waterfall. The staff were really friendly too and gave us free water. It is about a 15 min walk to town but it’s worth it for the views and there is also tuktuks you can take if you don’t want to walk.

Amazing views from the balcony and the most delicious Sri Lankan breakfast each morning made by the hosts. The location is wonderful and an easy walk to town.

The bathroom, particularly the shower, in the family room just needs a deep clean. Pillows were very hard and could use an update, but otherwise all was great and we were very happy!

Very nice place with beautiful view on the waterfall, the staff prepared a great diner for us even though we arrived late.

The room had an incredible view and lovely balcony. Very quiet and peaceful. The bed was very comfy. It was useful having a mini fridge and tea making facilities in the room. Also, the breakfast was absolutly brilliant. Every morning we were made a selection of different foods which included Sri Lankan style breakfast as well as Western. My partner has coeliac disease and therefore needed to ensure the food was strictly gluten free. The manager was very helpful and even though there was a language barrier he ensured he understood what my partner could and couldn’t eat and adapted where necessary.

There’s a lack of attention to detail with a few things. I needed to ask for our bathroom to be cleaned thoroughly as it was a big dirty but they responded well and acted quickly.
