Ella River Front

Pros: We booked last minute and we were pleasantly surprised by our room which was large, comfortable and had a gorgeous view. The AC worked well. Breakfast was huge (too much!). Cons: we were shown to our room without any greeting, we felt like an imposition. We had to go back to ask for the key to the room after and we were given no towels. No tea or coffee offered at breakfast. My main issue is that we were quoted a different price than what was confirmed on Booking.com. I see this has happened other reviewers. It was only a couple of dollars difference but if you stayed for a few days this adds up and it's just unfair. We paid it as our transfer was waiting but it left a sour taste on departure.

Too much breakfast which was very good . View to die for of the top of a waterfall and magnificent views of the hills and Valley. Very quiet location. Rs.500 to get into Ella Centre in a tuktuk, or a 15 minute walk half on a dirt track. Also hot water and a very good shower.

Shower was not enclosed and the water goes all over the floor making it very slippery

We had a lovely room overlooking the jungle and the waterfall. The bed was comfortable and large. The breakfast was delicious.

The staff were not very chatty and the courtyard and public spaces were a little untidy and the reception area sparse which gave a poor first impression which was a shame. It would have been easy and not too time consuming to sort it out and make it all more pleasant and ‘up market’. The access to it was not great, and unmade track in parts but tuk tuk and even larger vehicles could just about manage it. It was within 15 mins walking distance of the town centre, but the staff were able to call a tuk tuk driver if needed.

The staff were exceptional! It was our anniversary on the day of arrival, I had asked if they could prepare something small for us. Instead, they went above and beyond with it, providing us with a homemade cake, a cheese and fruit board, and a candle lit dinner. It was very special to us and we are still so grateful! The room was spacious and cooling, and our favourite part was the view from our balcony.

The shower situation needs some improvement, such as putting a shower curtain to prevent the bathroom from getting wet. The water pressure and water temperature regulation could also be better.

I chose a facility with a high **** star standard, unfortunately the facility does not deserve such a rating. In my opinion, the hotel should have a Home Stay standard. Dark rooms, Dark bedding, I do not know if it is clean. Far from the city, return to the hotel in the evening on an unlit muddy road. No restaurants nearby.

The balcony has an amazing view of the waterfall. The bed was large, so comfortable! Huge bathroom, good shower head. Breakfast was fresh, delicious.

Nothing :) It would be nice if the maid could clean the top of the mosquito net

Amazing views on the mountains and the waterfall from a very big balcony and huge window. Breakfast was tasty, with many different options included.

The trash can wasn't empty when we came, sheets weren't properly cleaned either. The bathroom looked really dirty, especially the shower. For the whole stay we had many lizards in the room, big spiders and flying bugs, but only one bed had a mosquito net... Stuff was always there but it was hard to communicate.
