Ocean Caves, Balapitiya

Very nice location, basically private jungle beach near by.

Ac did not work

We spent 3 nights there and were very satisfied. Our room also had a small covered terrace. The room and bathroom were large and clean. Very good value for money. It was quiet there, the staff was nice and very helpful. Very good place for rest. There is a restaurant with good food (super good Sri Lanka breakfast). Very close to empty and beautiful beaches with the rocks. The hotel is also not in so very touristy area, which was also very pleasant.

This is not a criticism of the hotel, but of the surrounding area: unfortunately there is a lot of garbage between the streets and the beaches (the beaches are very clean). Perhaps the locals could somehow be encouraged to keep this area cleaner. The surrounding area has very good potential.

Location is near good beach and at the other side are more few same beaches. Hotel has terrace with viewpoint. Pool side of the yard looks like a jungle. Delicious sri lankan breakfast.

No toiletieres (only soap), no complimentaries, poor wi-fi in the room.

Felt at home straight away. Dinitha, the manager, couldn’t have been more accommodating. The food, cooked by Neel, was wonderful, fresh and tasty. Nothing was too much trouble. The pool was nice and only a short walk to a beautiful beach. Some of the neighbours were a little annoying for a solo traveller but I felt very safe and cared for by Dinitha and Kevin.

A little more attention to the rooms would make a big difference and some new pillows on the bed.

Close to a beautiful beach and less touristy

Beautiful, well maintained, tropical gardens. Good sized pool, excellent food from Neil the chef 👍. Stunning beach 150metres down the lane, it’s very, very quiet. Staff are super good, Dinetha and Kevin, thank you.
