Aloft View

Great host, lovely finish on the build, more of an Airbnb style B&B, very private, floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the amazing view, away from town overlooking Ella rock and a waterfall, but only 600 rps in a tuk to the station. A beautiful spot with kind people. It’s hard to know before you have been to Ella but you do not want to stay in town, trust me, being a bit out in a place like Aloft View is wonderful.

Wonderfully designed private room at tree too height with glass wall for panoramic views. Designed and built by local family (architect and teacher) who were friendly and welcoming. A short Tuk Tuk ride from centre of town so quiet snd private. Good sunset restaurant 5 min walk away

This was the most beautiful stay from Sri Lanka for us. A very big room with all the amenities. Super clean, the breakfast was amazing. The family very nice and helpful. They can also arrange transportation if needed.

Excellent home-cooked breakfasts brought to us on the balcony, with traditional Lankan dishes and a variety of other offerings. Wonderful views both from the balcony and from the bed, with the floor-to-ceiling windows. Lovely hosts who were helpful in providing recommendations, booking transport, and organising laundry.

It would benefit from having a wardrobe and/or chest of drawers, as it was not possible to unpack and there were no surfaces to put things on. Some issues with the shower - either too hot or too cold!

We had an incredible stay at Aloft View. The staff are really friendly and Lakmali is just wonderful. She gave us great tips on where to go and what to do. Such great value for money.

From the Aloft view, one has a stunning view from the terrace to the ravama falls, the little adams peak, the ella rock and between them far down the ella valley as far as yala nationalpark (if I‘m not mistaken, but for sure the view is very far). We were lucky enough to had clear weather for four sunrises in four days, so there was no need to take a hike early mornings to enjoy beautiful sunrises, in the Aloft View one can do that from the terrace or directly out of the bed. The big windows do the job. Its also nice to enjoy the setting during the day, in contrast to the mainroad ella, its quiet apart from the calming sounds of the ravana falls, birds, and monkeys. The room itself is very clean, comfortable and spacious. It‘s just a single accomodation building. A fantastic Sri Lankan Breakfast is served on the terrace by Lakmali and Isuranga who manage everything. On our last evening, they also prepared us a dinner on the terrace, and boy, they do have some serious cooking skills. We highly recommend trying their curries, these are awesome. They were also very helpful by providing tips for excursions, organising us a (defensively driving) tuktuk driver, with whom we then arranged most excursions, pickups and dropoffs during our stay. The hospitality of Isuranga and Lakmali is incredible, we really enjoyed our stay.
