Aloft View

Aloft view was perfect for our stay in Ella. The views were priceless over the mountains and the city and since it is a 5min ride away from the city center it is very quiet up there. It was incredibly clean in comparison to other places we stayed in Sri lanka and also offered shampoo, shower gel, a hair dryer, kettle and a smal fridge. The WiFi was good and the hot water in the shower came quickly. The owners of aloft view are super kind and accommodating, they organized tuktuks and laundry service for us. The breakfast was homemade and very delicious. I read a comment here about privacy; it is next to a small way but there are not many people coming by, since it is not even big enough for cars. We really enjoyed our stay here and say thanks to Isuranga and Lakmali for their hospitality and their good advice for restaurants and sightseeing places🙏

The only improvement could be an AC but Ella is in the mountains so the weather is mostly not very hot.

Hot water was a bit dodgy.

The view is amazing from the balcony. The bed was comfortable and large. Owners organised tuk tuks, taxis etc which was helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and different each day. It's peaceful and a nice rest compared with busy Ella town.

The accommodation is a stand alone apartment rather than a hotel with facilities. You request breakfast time each evening for the next morning, you order tuk tuks from staff when you need them. You aren't really able to pop into town on a whim as it's quite far out. This isn't intended as a complaint as such, but it's important to know as you may not want this whilst on holiday. The shower has been complained about multiple times in reviews but is still poor. We ordered a meal the first night as it looked great from previous photos but we received more of an Uber Eats takeaway in a box which was disappointing.

Lovely place with stunning views. Hosts were very nice and thoughtful (we drove back in the rain one day and they’d kindly moved my shoes from an area they would have got soaked). Very close to town (about 7mins by tuk tuk) but lovely and peaceful.

A simply unique location and view: essentially a glass box on stilts. You find yourself actually looking down on the hills around Ella along with the circling birds of prey, and on a clear day out towards the south. Breakfast (served on our verandah) was excellent too. Eating whilst absorbing the views made for a pretty wonderful start to the day.

Access is via quite a steep track down and then up a steep flight of concrete steps adjacent to the accommodation. These weren’t walled in and had no handrail. None of this presented a great problem for us but may do for less mobile travellers. The overall experience was so remarkable though that these minor issues were quickly and easily outweighed.

Amazing view with huge glass windows to watch sunrise from bread. Lovely people who are very helpful. And a great breakfast.

Amazing view especially sunrise. Friendly family run property with very quick responses to messages and requests. Breakfast was very nice.

Nothing major. wifi was a bit slow but not an issue for us as we didn’t stay for quick wifi. Pressure on hot water in shower wasn’t very strong.

1. No privacy Don't be tricked by photos as it happened with us. Looking to a photos you could imagine, that you will stay privately somewhere in the woods with a perfect view. But it is not actually true. The apartments are near owners house and people are moving back and forth (you could see in the photos), so if you'll want a privacy you should leave curtains shut, because house is not high enough. 2. No sound isolation at all We booked apartments for two nights and both days we were awakened at 7:00 am by the sounds nearby. There were constructions work in the territory, music, people scream and car rides nearby. The feeling that you are sleeping outside. If you would like to have a good sleep this place is not for you. 3. No air conditioner

View, watch the sunrise from bed, tucked away up on the hill get tuk tuk down town is cheap. Small little fridge, tea coffee, breakfast lovely each morning.
