"Great value, amazing location and breakfast"

8.0

The family running the place were lovely. They were all the time making sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast was superb, and very enjoyable in the sunny terrace. Excellent location! Just 10 minutes walk from the Blue Gate and in a very nice area of the Medina.

The bed was a bit too hard and uncomfortable. It was also quite noisy at night as children were playing and screaming until around 11, but I guess it's part of the experience :)

"Poor"

3.0

They were very friendly even though I rarely saw the hosts. The breakfast was amazing and I was completely full. The location is also perfect near the two central streets in Medina.

I was feeling like I was intruding in the family as there were fighting noises all the time. The room was pretty dark. It was also smelling a little. The bed was completely uncomfortable. There was no correct linen for the blanket. Toilet paper was a very bad quality. It was impossible to buy tea, coffee, or water. I should probably not count, but also no tea offered at the welcoming as opposed to all other hotels in Morocco. My room was facing the street from one side, and it was ultra noisy all the time..

"wonderful stay at Maison Familal Tazi"

9.0

Excellent location, friendly host and sumptuous breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice, eggs etc. The rooftop view is outstanding. Lodge is easy to find during day time. Best to arrive through the Bab Boujloud and use Google Maps and follow the main alleyway called “Rue Talaa Sghira”. At Zkak lahjar and Fontaine Darb Roum, turn right, look up. You should see the sign of “Maison Familal Tazi”. It is also close to the Ruined Garden restaurant.

It would be great if the lodge provides a kitchen for guests to cook and a microwave. Also provide better directions to get to the lodge.

"Great place, excellent value for money"

10.0

I really enjoyed my stay at this traditional, family-run guesthouse in the medina. My room was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed. Shower was great with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was very generous with plenty of coffee! The staff here were very friendly and helpful. Anyone with mobility issues should probably let the family know in advance as there are a LOT of stairs but there is accommodation on the ground floor.

Sometimes the WiFi was spotty but I can't think of anything else I'd change!

"Good stay, kind host, beautiful breakfast on rooftop terrace"

9.0

A kind host with limited English but none the less we felt welcomed. We had quite a stressful situation initially finding it, as we were followed by people trying to “help” us even though we politely declined and asked them to leave us alone. Because of this, we ended up walking straight past it as maps isn’t 100% accurate in the Medina. We eventually found it (look at signs higher on the walls in the Medina). It is only a few minutes downhill from the Ruined Gardens restaurant. The accommodation itself is very basic and more expensive than our stay in Marrakech, however we really enjoyed the breakfasts on the terrace every morning. We ended up in a family suite instead of a double room (I assume because it was full) which was very large with its own bathroom which had a damp smell. The owner was also kind to offer a special blend of tea to my partner on our departure day as he had food poisoning. Overall it was a good stay.

It was a bit difficult to find initially however once we found it, it was easy to get to. It is located a few minutes walk downhill from the secret garden. Look for signs higher on the walls in the Medina and it is eventually on the right hand side of a path leading down towards the tanneries.
