Casa das Palmas

Lovely authentic Portuguese B&B. It’s in a small hamlet a few minutes drive from Óbidos and Caldas de Rainha. There’s a good restaurant 50 metres down the road. Theresa and Janice are wonderful caring hosts. We loved the 2 dogs and cats, made us feel at home. Delicious breakfast every morning with lots of choice. Very quiet locale and you cannot hear the other guests in your room. Thanks again for a great visit.

Comfortable bedroom, excellent breakfast and secure parking. A great location to explore Óbidos and the Silver Coast.

The hospitality was exceptional, with lots of attention to details, like fresh milk in the room refrigerator for my coffee or a sampling of the local aperitif, that made me feel like I was visiting a favorite sister or aunt. Teresa was especially helpful with all kinds of driving tips and service recommendations when I asked for them. The outdoor space was also inviting, There is private access to the outside space through the French doors in the room. Teresa and Jackie also had pets, but we're very careful to make sure I was comfortable with the level of exposure to them. I have no doubt I would not have come into contact with any pets if I didn't want to.

My stay was during an unusually warm January. The humidity level in my room was very high when I first arrived, causing a cool damp feeling in the air and in the towels. Once the heater and towel warmer were turned on, all became comfortable.

Really nice hostesses made a very delightful stay in their beautiful home with only 2 guestrooms and secure parking. Amazing breakfast including eggs made to order. Beautiful setting very nice and comfortable room and equidistant and close between Caldas da Rainha and Obidos in a teeny aldeia (village). Thank you ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Charming bed and breakfast! Greatly exceeded all expectations. We were welcomed by Teresa and Janice who immediately made us feel at home. Beautiful grounds and garden in a private walled, perfectly decorated guest house. The breakfast was very special and was the perfect beginning for the three days we were there in Obidos. Would highly recommend!!

There was nothing I did not like

Great location for access to lots in the surrounding areas without having to be in the chaos of the tourist centre. Beautiful garden to sit and enjoy sunset meal. Nice perk of having ginja liquor in the room - enough for both nights we were there. Lovely hosts and Roger the dog!

First of all the hosts are fantastic, Teresa and Janice are so great and helpful, we immediately felt at home The breakfast was amazing and tasty, we mentioned we're vegetarian the room was exceptionally clean the guesthouse is not located in the old city Obidos but it gives you a quiet stay in the village area. we recommend to have a car, or take a taxi to the touristic area, it's only 4 min+- by car. we got great recommendations from the hosts for everything we asked. we had a lovely time at Casa das palmas

This is not a criticism of the property, rather that we had thought that we would be closer to the village of Obidos and didn’t realize how challenging it would be to find transportation to get around. Trying to get an Uber or taxi in the evening was almost impossible, both nights out restaurant staff offering to drive us back if we didn’t find another ride (which we did but it took a long time to find someone).

Such a warm and welcoming place to stay. It felt like we were friends rather than guests. Room super comfortable and lovely quiet location. Breakfast fresh and plentiful.
