The Hill Town Cottage

The hotel is located up on the hill in a quiet neighborhood away from the noise of the city. I didn’t feel like I was staying at a hotel but at somebody’s beautiful home. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were pleasant and nice.

Everything was good and pleasant during my stay.

Very nice house, a big breakfast, comfortable beds, and a good location.

The bathroom definitely needs a refresh. The man who works there was very persistent in offering transportation and organizing everything. The same conversation came up every time we met. I know he was trying to be helpful, but over time it became tiring.

Es war eine sehr freundliche und fürsorgliche Gastgeberin, die uns wegen der Kälte mit einer zusätzlichen Wolldecke versorgt hat und abends noch für uns einen Lieferservice organisiert hat. Das Frühstück war mit lokalen leckeren Spezialitäten und sehr üppig.

Wir waren nur eine kurze Nacht dort. Alles passend.

Great staff

We only stayed one night here. It was a welcome respite from the heat and humidity in other parts of the country, and the hot shower was very welcome! The rooms are comfortable, quiet, with views over the town. It was easy to walk down and visit Victoria Park, the Post Office etc. The employee, Ragu, recommended a good local restaurant. He was there in the morning to prepare a delicious breakfast, always smiling and ready to help.

The rooms were fairly pricey by Sri Lankan standards, but I think that's Nuwara Eliya for you...

Super süßes Cottage mit wunderschön angelegtem Garten, wir haben uns sofort wohlgefühlt und wurden mit Tee und Gebäck begrüßt. Für die Nacht wurde uns umgehend auch eine zweite Decke angeboten. Uns war es kuschelig warm und es gibt auch eine warme Dusche. Ein Föhn ist auch vorhanden. Das Zimmer war sehr gemütlich und hatte sogar einen Balkon. Alles war sehr sauber. Die Hotelinhaberin ist sehr freundlich und Ragou hat sich super um uns gekümmert. Da wir nur zwei Nächte hatten und spät angereist sind hat er uns bei der Organisation unterstützt. So konnten wir am nächsten Tag eine tolle Tour mit Teeplantagenbesichtigung und Wasserfall machen. Man konnte mit allen Fragen auf ihn zukommen und er hatte immer gute Tipps. Auch einen Sitzplatz im Zug nach Ella haben wir problemlos bekommen. Zum Frühstück gab es sogar kleine Erdbeeren aus dem Garten. Das Frühstück ist auch sehr zu empfehlen. Vor allem werden regionale Produkte verwendet. Vegetarische Menüs sind kein Problem. Das Cottage liegt außerdem zentral.
