Sigiriya Amenity Home Stay

Great location, comfortable bed, good AC, good wifi, very friendly host and family. Good value for money and met our basic needs.

Host was a little pushy with booking activities and breakfast was not overly fresh. Loud music from the reggae bar next door so bring ear plugs. Also be aware that if the host takes you to a spice garden they will give you a spontaneous massage there and you’ll end up with oil all over your clothes and hair 😂

Excellent property in Sigriya with large spacious, clean and modern rooms. There are lots of bugs in Sigriya so the mosquito net was a good addition. The shower was hot and had good pressure and the bathroom was clean. The included breakfast each morning was very good as well. The highlight was the Safari offered by the homestay, we paid only £29 each for a private half day safari - we were lucky enough to see over 70 elephants which was amazing- our guide was informative, friendly and ensured we had a great experience. Would 100% recommend this property.

Only minor issue was that there were quite a few frogs that got into the bathroom, think this was just because of the heavy rain.

AC worked well, room was clean, good breakfast, good localization close to the restaurants on the main street

The host was quite pushy - when we arrived he immediately wanted to discuss our plans, at first we took it as a positive sign but then it turned out that the host was only interested in selling his / his friends services: he took us to a spice garden which was a typical tourist trap with very high prices, he was even offended that we did not go to safari with him (we already had safari booked online with someone else and could not cancel). Overall, interactions with the host made us feel very uncomfortable

Great location and numerous restaurants are around. The host helped us organise transportation for a reasonable price. Good breakfast! Comfortable bed and working AC!

If you go home after sunset take a headlamp because you are expected to walk on a road with cars and tuk-tuks without street lights.
