Sigiriya Amenity Home Stay

Breakfast and staff were great! The room is mostly clean. They provide a mosquito net which is great because there are tons of mosquitos there. The location is walking distance from the exit of Sigiriya Rock.

Some mold on the roof but not too bad. Cold shower water.

The host family was really nice and welcoming. We also appreciated the welcoming drink on arrival. The room is spacious and from terrace we had a good view on the Sigiriya Rock. The space where you will have breakfast doesn't look like in the pictures though, all rooms will have breakfast in the same spot and from there you won't see Sigiriya Rock. The host family was very helpful in answering all of our questions and helped us organizing a great safari (if you can choose we'd recommend trying to go in the morning because when we went at 1:30 pm, the park was very crowded with other jeeps).

Unfortunately the room smelled musty and the ceiling had some mold on it. We did not feel comfortable in the room because it felt like we were breathing moldy air all the time. The room cleary needs some renovation to get rid of the mold. When we arrived, the host offered us free rides with his tuktuk but when we asked him, he just organized us an overpriced tuktuk ride.

The location is perfect, just a short walk to Lion's Rock, and it's also conveniently close to a variety of coffee shops and restaurants. The room is spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious and a great way to start the day.

Everything is new and very comfy and good ! The beds are super nice The bathroom is luxurious haha The terrace in front is nice The breakfast area is charming and it was very good The owner is doing guide for the rock, tuk tuk, safari And will answer to all your questions

I’m not sure I would be comfortable to be as a solo traveler here. The owner was a bit insistent about seeing my tattoos, telling me to wear shorter clothes to show them off. I understand that you can have an attraction to tattoos, but I felt uncomfortable and I don't like people touching my body without asking me to see the tattoos too.

Good budget friendly place to stay very near to lion's rock. Host helped us sorting out a plan for our lion's rock visit so that we can check out on time next day. Very good delicious and filing breakfast. Big, cozy and comfortable room with all facilities. Nearby within walking distance many good restaurants are there also. All in all , we had a good experience at Amenity homestay.
