Suyog Life Siargao

Staff: All the staff were awesome. Billy, Hotel Manager, was outstanding...so helpful and responsive. Always had great ideas on things to try and places to visit.  Backup Generator: An important consideration is that Siargao electrical supply is absolutely hopeless and will go off multiple times per hour so good hotels have backup generators that kick in when the electricity goes off. Luckily for us (because we never considered this), Suyog had a really good back up generator which meant aircon (which is absolutely critical to be comfortable in Siargao due to the high heat) and other electrical requirements were not an issue. Rooms: Rooms themselves were comfortable and practical. Mattress was good. Rooms had air conditioning and a fan. Shower water heater worked well. All rooms had a drying rack and coat hangers outside the door for drying clothes. Drinking Water: Water dispenser was available (chilled) for all guests to use as required. Communal Area: Communal area has a large table to sit at and chat also had a kitchen which can be used by guests. Location: Location meant that Greenwave Cafe (great coffee) was < 5 mins walk, Backside Burgers was around 6 mins walk  and the hundred of other places to eat, drink, sing, and socialise in Tourism Rd  were only a few mins after Greenwave. Room Rate: Appeared to be very reasonable.

Mattresses were on a mattress base built out of packing crates so were very low. It wasn't an issue for us but would have preferred a regular height bed. The walls were thin. It is possible to hear other in the rooms next door talking. Turned out to not be a huge issue but was still something to consider. Bathroom had a strong (septic tank) smell sometimes.

Clean and comfy, good location, Billy was very helpful and sent lots of recommendations

No mosquitoes in the room. Bed is very comfy.

A/C could have been better.

Billy the host was the best host we’ve had on our 3 months of travelling so far. He really wants you to just have the best time. Constantly giving us suggestions, best places to eat, where the nightlife is, what to do in the day. Couldn’t fault him one bit. Room was also cleaned every day also

Billy and the rest of his staff went above and beyond for me and my family of 6 during our stay. Billy gave us tons of amazing recommendations for food & activities around the island, which we were all super grateful for! The wifi is super fast and is suitable for remote work, the beds are really comfy, the aircon is strong, and they have a generator to power the whole place during power outages which is necessary on the island. There is also a kitchen, which my family used for cooking. The location is perfect and is walkable to the center of General Luna. We will definitely stay here next time we visit Siargao. Billy and the team is hospitable. He always guide us where to go, to eat, to party and easy to be along with. You feel safe and comfortable with him and other staff. Billy booked us everything we need such as motorycle, island hopping and van transfers. Bathroom is really neat. Heater is working all the time. After a long tiring day they change the comforter and pillow cases. Small gestures but we really appreciate. I feel home. We’ll be back. Worth the penny.
