Oude Pastorie

Nieu Bethesda is a special and fascinating place. And the Oude Pastorie is a great haven from which to explore it. It has all the required modern conveniences, and is highly luxurious, but still authentic and true to the period of its origin (late-1800s). The gardens are also beautiful! We stayed in the charming Waenhuis, not the main house, which is equally spacious and well-appointed.

Nothing really. The town was having water trouble at the time, but we were provided a separate tank of drinking water. Most swimming pools in the town are converted reservoirs, as was this one, but needed a bit of attention (water clarity, etc.)

The property has amazing character and charm. It was very well equipped and the guest house host Tanya was very accommodating and attentive. It was pet friendly and our furry family were able to enjoy the garden with no restrictions. It was a truly stunning stay and we will definitely be back.

What an adventurous stay! We had the whole place to ourselves and it feels like you go back in time a century. The house is filled with treasures from way back when and the garden is stunning. Mr giant tortoise was happily walking in the dining room when we woke up, making the experience even more wondrous. Bed was great also.

Lighting struck while we were there so we were without power for the duration. But they had battery powered candles and emergency flashlights so it was no issue really

Tanja was so helpful and kind. The bed was really comfy, the towels thick and fluffy and the Africology toiletries always appreciated. Well decorated and thought given to all you need.
