Kwakunje Guest Lodge

The facility was value for money,, it reminded me of the real African experience. It was Cosy, I loved an electric blanket since the place is very cold.

I didn't like the bed linen and shower towels. The linen was too old for my liking and shower towels look very cheap.

I loved how peaceful and serene the aesthetics are . The staff were very accommodating I asked for an extra carpet and they helped me so quickly.

We stayed at kwakunje mid winter the showers were freezing cold and the rooms did not have heaters the breakfast was yummy tho .

Designed to look like a ring of Zulu huts from long ago, the place was quirky, but beautiful! The staff were friendly, and the low door into the hut was cute. I felt safe and looked after. There were electric blankets on the bed, and ample tea and coffee.

It was a bit chilly during a surprise cold snap.

It’s giving an urban vibe in a rural vibe! The property is beautiful, not to mention the nature in and surrounding it!

The shower was filthy, they should improve on the cleanliness!

Excellent position just out of town. Nice character. Very helpful. Even washed our filthy car!

Needs heating

We had hut 3. There was very, very little hot water coming from the geyser - possibly 3mins then ice cold. We reported it to housekeeping on Sat am. We had no feedback & no attempt to resolve the matter. The towels are tiny & thin but without being able to shower much, they sufficed but large decent towels, 2 ply toilet paper, with spares, bedside lamps & a bedcover that actually fitted, would have made an interesting experience a wonderful one. We loved the huts, the peace & quiet, the succulent gardens, the staff were lovely. But no hot showers, especially in winter, is just not on. Kwakunje is a little gem. With a little input it would be an amazing tourism spot. Please try - it really is a lovely, unique little gem! Oh, & the entrance road is VERT bumpy!!! We had a good time though - thanks!
