B&B Palazzo San Michele

Very central location in the old town of Bari, close to all the bars and restaurants, seaside was nearby and the Central Station only in 15minutes walk. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good offering a choice of toasts, cereals, omelettes, fresh fruit and vegetables.

The price-quality ratio does not make sense, as four-star hotels with complete services are available in Bari at this price. Here you get one croissant for breakfast. In addition, the room was quite cold in December, although there is a possibility of heating with air conditioning, but the floors without a carpet remain too cold. The bed mattresses are heavily used and soft, so the double bed is two separate mattresses of different quality. After one night we ran to the hotel for full service.

Clean Good location - direct 12 minute walk to train Maria, breakfast lady was sweet/kind and took incredible care of our group.

The owners communication on arrival was bad. When we arrived he didnt answer on 2 different phone numbers. The only way we got in was another couple staying there came by. They had a 3rd phone# so called the owner for us. He said he sent us all the information to get in but All he sent were 2 photos---1 of a doorway with no explanation and one with a set of keys in his hand. This was VERY confusing. We finally discovered the "door" photo was of the kitchen in a restaurant next door. They had the keys. It would have helped if he had explained this in a text message. Also, he didnt followup to see if we made it ok or were having any other problems. I tried contacting about the poor Wifi connection (it was very weak)---but there was no response back.

The location. The quirkiness of the intermingling of restaurant, office, breakfast staff, who all worked together to find us on the street, process our arrival, carry our bags up, and store our luggage.

Lots of stairs to our room, but staff carried luggage. Challenging to find address, but restaurant staff hailed us in the street.

The breakfast and location were both outstanding, and the breakfast attendant was truly amazing. She made a lasting impression on us that we will never forget.

The location was perfect in the Old Town of Bari. The breakfast was also good with a very kind staff (Thank you Maria!) The room was tidy and big enough for a couple, the bathroom was equipped with all the necessary amenities. Also the A/C was working really nice and the staff left it on when we were away, exploring the city.

The stairway was a bit narrow, but thats how these buildings were made, so we didnt mind.

The location was excellent. In the middle of the old city center, near a lot of restaurants, the beach area, 15mins walk from the train station. The beds were comfortable, the room was big, the bathroom really nice, big and well equipped. There is a restaurant on the ground floor which is really really good and the service is really nice. Plus, the staff was always kind, helpful and welcoming. The same was Michelle, the owner.

Hallway and staircase were too narrow - it was a bit difficult to carry the luggage. Still, Giorgio was kind enough to help with the luggage upon our arrival (Thank you, Giorgio!) and we're talking about an old building. The breakfast was good, always served in good company (Thank you, Maria!). Still, something warm and maybe some vegetables variation would have been good to have. Another aspect is related to the towels, which were not replaced during our 5days stay. We didn't ask for others neither. These three aspects are not deal breakers.
