Shandon Bells Guest House

Location, river view and seating, breakfast, parking.

The location is quite good and you can walk to most sights in Cork. The room had everything that you need and the bathroom was also quite spacious with a tub. It was also clean. Parking is included and available which was important for me. Check-in was ok.

Parking is a bit complicated especially when you arrive as the guest house is located next to a one-way street and it is easy to miss the drive-way (which I did so I had ro drive around the block). Here some instructions could be helpful. There were a lot of steps up to my room and it is quite difficult with heavy luggage. Unfortunately the layout of the room is not ideal as I had to move furniture to reach a power outlet which meant that the wardrobe cannot be used (as it didn't open). The room could use new paint and it just felt very lived in. What was an issue is that as soon as breakfast was cooked downstairs the smells would travel all the way to the top and were extremely strong and bad (it smelled like old bacon fat), which meant that I could not sleep any longer. So depends where your room is as there are two houses, that can be an issue.

Breakfast was fantastic, a real standout

The room was so small only one person could move at a time.

Het ontbijt is niet bij de prijs inbegrepen en voor 12 euro kon je gebruik maken van een redelijk beperkt buffet en voor 3 euro extra kon je daar nog iets vers klaar laten maken. Kwaliteit was goed en het personeel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

This is our second time stay in Shandon Bells Guest House. This time we got the spacious room number 9 with comfortable bed, clean bathroom, natural lights. Staffs were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good and the location was perfect for me to visit UCC for my examination. Also well connected with the City Center by Bus, but one can even walk too.

There is nothing to complain about. But I felt if the per night price can be lowered a bit then I could say good value for money.

Nous avons passe 3 nuits en 2 sejours. Chambre luxe. L'emplacement permettant d'aller à cork centre à pied, le parking inclus. Le petit déjeuner correct (buffet limité ) confort correct. Le plateau the/café . L'equipe de personnel agréable

La taille de la salle de bains. Un peu trop frais dans la chambre et salle de bains lors du premier passage.

Total perfekt! Unser Zimmer war geräumig und sehr schön eingerichtet mit Blick auf den Fluss und wir konnten vom Zimmer aus den Balkon nutzen. Frühstück kann man vom Buffet wählen und auch von der Karte. Das Personal ist sehr nett und bemüht. Die 2 Nächte die wir dort verbracht haben, waren perfekt!!
