The Crown Lodges

Had a wonderful one-night stay at The Crown Inn on Saturday, staying in the HoneyBee Lodge. The room was spotless, beautifully presented, and had a really cosy, comfortable feel — ideal for a relaxing overnight break. Everything felt well looked after, and it made for a very enjoyable stay. Breakfast the next morning was excellent. The sausages were especially standout, full of flavour and good quality. I was also impressed that the eggs were cooked exactly how I asked: fried and flipped, without being overdone. That sounds simple, but it’s surprising how often places get that wrong, so it was genuinely appreciated. Overall, a lovely stay with a charming atmosphere, a comfortable room, and a breakfast that really hit the mark. I’d happily stay again and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Just to add that all of your staff were a pleasure to deal with. Friendly, engaging and happy in their job. They are a credit to you.

Breakfast was not available at The Crown on the Monday of our stay but we were recommended to go to Algar Lodge, fairly close, where the breakfast was exceptional.

We were disappointed to find that since our visit last year several chalet units had been erected at the rear of the Crown Lodges, overlooking what had been an attractive garden where one could sit outside the back door of the lodges. This new development removes what had been a view over fields, and is so close that it destroys the privacy previously enjoyed by those using the lodges to the extent that the curtains had to be drawn across the door and window for the whole time we were there.

Lovely bright lodge with a comfortable bed and everything we needed plus some outdoor seating. Lovely location. The food in the crown inn was amazing. We had dinner and breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it all

Room was nice

Been booked for weeks we had a 7 hour motorcycle ride to get there then told we couldn't have a evening meal as no tables available as it was 2 busy. Then told its not that cold if we wanted to sit outside. Over £100 for 1 night we paid but they wouldn't let us eat and made zero attempt to even try and fit us in just looked after local non residents .
