Where do we start, as there was nothing to fault. Imantha and family went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, comfortable and special. Beautiful setting with breathtaking views from the balcony and rooms, excellent breakfasts, and evening meal if required. Imantha was a great guide to the local area.

The view was incredible! It’s a bit of a hike up to the hotel from the town but it’s sooo worth it! We were a 10 minute walk to the start of the Ella Rock trail, so we were able to summit for sunrise and it was spectacular. Staff super friendly and breakfast was nice.

Perfekt ophold. Det fineste familieværelse med den smukkeste udsigt - både fra terrassen og fra 1. sal (soverum). Morgenmad blev serveret på terrassen med forskellige lokale retter og lækkert frugt. Imantha og familen var så venlige og hjælpsomme med alt ift. transport, oplevelser og hvad vi ellers havde brug for. Vi giver stedet de bedste anbefalinger og håber at komme tilbage en dag.

If you're looking for a homestay in Ella you can stop scrolling because this is the one!!! We just spent 2 unforgettable nights with Imantha and his amazing family. Apart from the breathtaking view, cute cottage, great food, amazing service this family has made our time in Sri Lanka memorable. A special shout out to mum.. who gifted me with her time and generosity of sharing her kitchen and cooking wisdom with me.. we will never forget you. 🙏 🥰

That we only stayed 2 nights .. didn't want to leave.

The place itself is beautiful, room was spacious, good aircon. We had dinner in Ella twice and also a drink but we always got picked up by them. Everything was arranged well, took us to a waterfall, gave us tips for the Ella hike. Was always available by text/phone. Would recommend. Breakfast really nice.

We loved it here! The owner is SO friendly and kind - definitely the nicest person we met on our trip and probably all our travels. The view from the balcony is wonderful and we loved having our breakfast there. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The room is super clean, comfortable and they provided toiletries. The owner provided outstanding communication and went above and beyond to help us. We recommend using his TukTuk service (they have their own and then also can arrange other drivers to get you if they are busy). It was so easy and fast as well as incredibly reasonably priced which is helpful cause Ella is known for expensive tuk tuks. The last bit of the road to the accommodation is a bit tricky for cars (we had a private driver) but the owner came and met us with his Tuktuk and drove us the rest of the way with our luggage. We would have stayed longer in Ella just to stay here!

Nothing

Imantha and his family could not have been more accommodating! Nothing was too much trouble and the hospitality was exceptional, from picking us up at Ella train station, the delicious breakfast served on the terrace each morning and the excellent communication. Imantha also helped us find some great things to do in Ella. They also helped us with onward transfers in their comfortable car. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, with amazing views, not in the heart of the town and with true Sri Lankan hospitality, this is the best place to stay in Ella!

We can't rate Guest Inn Avendra highly enough! Imantha and his family welcomed us with open arms and gave us an experience we won't ever forget. They made our stay so comfortable, organised us a tour of Ella in their own tuktuk based on what we said we were interested in. Even though they are a little bit out of Ella town, you don't notice it, because they are always ready and happy to drive you where you need to go! We would recommend this stay to everyone, we can't wait to come back one day!

The views from the balcony are incredible. Imantha the host is the most helpful and kind host we had in Sri Lanka. The views from bed are also amazing. Nice quiet location. Honestly my favourite stay in Sri Lanka
