Wonderful views, super clean, an incredible breakfast, and the nicest staff we’ve met in our whole Sri Lanka trip!

They deserve higher than 10! It’s a family run business that’s like a 5 star hotel … ‘Dad’ picked us up from our previous stay at Tissa for a little more than PickMe prices but with a whole lot more service. He stopped for us to stretch and bight us coconut drinks, then stopped at Ravana falls where we could explore and take photos. Then again stopped at view points so we could see Adam’s peak and Mount Ella. The whole family came to welcome us, and the ‘boys’ carried our bags up the steps (it’s on a mountainside). Mum took my laundry straight away to get started on it so we could have everything clean that night to pack and leave the next day. We discussed with son what we wanted to do and he helped organise it all from booking our train tickets online, to driving us in the Tuk Tuk to a cafe to overlook the nine arch bridge in time to see the train. We then walked down and along the track to Ella and explored the shops before texting him to pick us up. We had a lovely evening meal on the balcony too and an amazing Sri Lankan brekkie the next day (and saw some monkeys in the trees near our room) before he drove us to catch our train. They have done everything in the room to help travellers enjoy the space too - a day bed outside to read / watch sunrise or sunset with blanket and cushions. A fridge and sink on the balcony . A large ensuite with Hot water shower and mosquito net around the bed. We didn’t need the air con on at all - it was a lovely temperature We had a great time in a short time - love this place and appreciate the lovely family ! Can’t recommend them highly enough.

The room was not perfectly cleaned and had spider nets on the shower head and in the corner of the bathroom door. The „mosquito net“ was more like a curtain. We expected more for the price. We wouldn‘t mind these things if it would have been cheaper…

Das herzliche und persönliche Willkommen von Imantha und die Gastfreundschaft der ganzen Familie. Die Lage ist großartig in den Bergen mit tollen Ausblick. Wir konnten direkt von Avendra zum Ella Rock wandern und an den Bahnschienen in die Ella City in nur 49min, ein Erlebnis. Seine Mom hat und uns hervorragend bekocht, das Frühstück war sehr abwechslungsreich, jeden Morgen neue Sri Lankische Produkte, zum Abendessen gab es Reis und 6 verschiedene Currys, sehr lecker.

Abbiamo soggiornato alla Guest Inn Avendra a Ella ed è stata una delle esperienze più belle del nostro viaggio. La guesthouse si trova immersa nella natura, circondata dal verde della giungla, in un luogo tranquillo e davvero suggestivo. Il vero valore del posto però è il gestore: una persona incredibilmente gentile, premurosa e sempre disponibile. Ci ha fatto sentire come a casa fin dal primo momento. La mattina ci ha preparato una colazione indimenticabile, con tanti frutti locali buonissimi e particolari, un momento davvero speciale. Un posto che ricorderemo con grande affetto e che consigliamo assolutamente a chi visita Ella.

Our 2 night stay at Guest Inn Avendra was exceptional from start to finish. Imantha and his wonderful family were so welcoming, attentive and kind, exceptional hosts. We had the most amazing views from our beautiful cottage on the top floor. surrounded by lush, natural scenery and overlooking the mountains. It is close to all attractions for the area, the wonderful waterfalls and of course the famous 9 arch bridge. It was so serene to sit on the swing bed, watching the sun rise from our spacious balcony. The breakfast is delightful and plentiful and It certainly sets you up for the day and Imantha's mum made us a delicious evening meal. There are also a lot of little thoughtful extras in the fridge and bathroom which are a really kind touch. Imantha's dad drove us to Yala and stopped off to buy us coconuts and to taste buffalo milk, again so very kind and I must mention his little brother who was always working hard keeping the rooms spotlessly clean. Thank you to a beautiful family who made our stay so memorable. Wish we could have stayed for longer but hopefully we will return. This is a stunning place, I would definitely recommend it

This is the best place we have stayed in the whole of Sri Lanka The views and the family are so amazing and the food cooked by the family is the best we tasted Quite extraordinary We visited places all around the world and nothing tops the feeling of being in the tree tops and jungle of this place and virtually no insects

Tolle Gastgeber, sehr hilfsbereit, fährt die Gäste jederzeit nach Ella runter und holt sie wieder ab. Gibt super Tipps für Ausflüge. Unser bestes Hotel seit unserem Urlaub in Sri Lanka.

This is the best place we stayed in during our tour. Perfect view from the house. You can watch the sunrise from the bed. Tasty breakfast with lots of delicious fruits. Excellent wi fi connection. However, what makes this place the best is Imantha and his family. We truly felt like at home. They helped us with everything: booked the excursions to the tea factory, showed the right way to Ella rock, gave the recommendations about best places to visit, provided the transfer to the seaside. Support was everywhere and in everything. It was really great and we all miss this family.
