Chill come and go atmosphere, with likely multiple people renting rooms but I always felt like I had my own room and it was a nice experience overall.

Only one bathroom upstairs.

Diana is a wonderful host. She offered us delicious oatmeal and fresh fruit from her garden. She added a lot to our Hawaii trip by recommending some awesome beaches and places to visit nearby. This location is ideal for quick access to Volcano national park and Mauna Mea. Highly recommend

Host was nice and friendly. House rules were straightforward and reasonable. House and room were clean and well kept, with a great view off the balcony. Location and directions to property were perfect.

Bed was just a twin, but for a solo traveller it was fine, and actually really comfortable. The common area and balcony more than made up for it.

This was the most difficult situation to be in. Booked it in October 2025 then in December 2025 she wants me to cancel because she doubled the rate based on the event that weekend. Wow that was the first time ever that any Airbnb or facility has done that to me. Booking.com told me that events like pricing issues happen. From the moment I checked in red flags. The property has two small huts and an old motor home on it. The owner lives on property in the motor home. The ant and roach issue in the unit was hard to combat. Ants would appear on the stove and on the pot I was cooking on. It got into the rice cooker. Several fans and lights didn’t work in the rooms. I have video documentation of the issues. She would come and look into the window to see if the lights were on. There were rules on the kitchen area and bathroom walls. I have pictures of them. I have the original emails and texts to increase the prices and hold the cancelation over my head

Ich habe die Unterkunft nicht benützt. Ich erhielt von der Besitzerin eine Nachricht, dass sie nicht für eine einzelne Nacht vermieten. Auf meine reguläre Buchung hingewiesen meinte sie, sie werde versuchen, mich im Haupthaus unterzubringen. Kurz vor Anreise erklärte sie, sie werde mich in einer anderen Unterkunft unterbringen. Dort gab es kein WLAN, was für mich nicht in Frage kam. Ich wollte, dass sie für mich eine andere Unterkunft bucht auf ihre Kosten, das das Zimmer ja bezahlt war. Nein - sie werde mich als no-show melden und die volle Summe bei booking.com freigeben!! Alles Lüge!!!Bis heute keine Rückzahlung!!!

Highly recommend staying here - it was such a pleasure meeting Diana - the host. She’s incredibly kind and welcoming. Would love to come back again!

I liked the coziness and personable vibe of the place. It felt like staying at a friend's house, and the view of the sunrise from the balcony was amazing. It was a very comfortable stay, and it was also close to the town.
