Byfords

I was really looking forward to my stay at Byfords - with its 5 star rating and what looked like very lovey rooms. I can admit the rooms were very comfortable, seemed clean and they were lovely and big and the extra nice coffees and waters in the fridge were a lovely plus. Air con was very welcome. There were a few vital things, that considering this is a 5 star property, we were really disappointed by. A minor point but there was no “please do not disturb” sign for us to use, which resulted in us having to let housekeeping know we didn’t want it (whilst still in bed). Secondly the breakfast

Man kann sich von der Karte alles bestellen, es dauert aber ziemlich lang, bis das Essen kommt.

Dachflächenfenster im Zimmer. Bei Regen ist das sehr leider, meinem Empfinden nach, laut.

Didn’t like entering bedroom from car park which was noisy before 7am and because of the wooden floors it sounded like the people in the bedroom above were wearing hobnail boots!would recommen

We’ve visited Hilt and stayed at Byfords for many years

Parking policy appears to have changed. I have a lot of equipment in my car and I only stay at hotels with parking on site. I was told this time that the car park ‘wasn’t Byfords car park anymore’ and that I’d have to park at Budgens. I would never have booked if I’d known. In the event I parked in the car park as a member of staff told me it would be fine! Internet was down nobody seemed to care.
