J'ai aimé la beauté du lieu, l'esprit d'authenticité qui y règne, la très grande gentillesse de toute l'équipe, la localisation parfaite. Les propriétaires ont toute mon admiration et mes remerciements pour ce qu'ils ont accompli ici. J'ai vraiment énormément aimé cet endroit.

Juste une petite clarification nécessaire peut-être dans le descriptif pour la réservation que quelques chambres ont une salle de bains privative mais pas "attached"

My room was lovely but someone who is very sensitive to heat may prefer to request a room on the shadier side of the house. Great location in the heart of the old town but beware that this means you will hear the call to prayer emanating from nearby mosques- ear plugs may help!

Es war ein absolutes Privileg, im altehrwürdigen Haus des ehemaligen Gouverneurs von Lamu zu wohnen. Das gesamte Personal ist unglaublich freundlich und sorgt dafür, dass man sich sofort willkommen fühlt. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Kulinarik: Das Frühstück mit hauseigenen Bio-Produkten ist hervorragend und das Swahili-Dinner ein echtes Muss! Auch das nachhaltige Konzept mit den praktischen Bio-Toiletten hat überzeugt. Die Lage ist zudem perfekt und ruhig gelegen, aber dennoch in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Seafront, den Restaurants, Märkten und Geschäften. Ich kommen definitiv wieder!

It's unique location and set made it the perfect area to stay in Lamu. Wanted to be around and experience more of the local vibe and Subira is centrally located right behind the fort. The setup was nice too with a lovely veranda upstairs as well as calming area downstairs. Staff were incredibly helpful including Joshua and Rosemary who were pleasant hosts. The owners were there too and had a lovely chat with them about their history of the place.

A gem in the heart of Old Town Lamu. A carefully restored home that caters to the conscientious traveler looking to immerse themselves in this beautiful culture. My stay was comfortable, the staff are courteous and because Subira house is welcoming to the people of Old Town, you will connect easily to tour guides, markets and other attractions in the area.

Please ensure guests know how to get to Subira, especially that they are aware they cannot be picked up via boat from the Mokowe port.
