Waterfall Accomodation

Amazing hotel to relax and get use of it. Rooms are stunning, swimming pool is really good and breakfast is really good as well.

You can’t find it anywhere The address of the hotel, we went to the waterfall in the mountains to ask for it and the man told us to write Villa Vainilla on GPS, it works! We found it this way. It's a bit difficult to get in there as it is up on a hill. Wifi doesn’t get to everywhere on the room.

Location was great, fun drive. View was lovely and at one with nature

Waterfall Accommodation (or Villa Vanilla) was perfect for what we were looking to do on Mahé. The villa is located high in the mountains, accessed by steep winding roads and is perched in a location where you can see much of the North of the island. The accommodation had excellent air-conditioning when needed, privacy, a place to sit and enjoy the evening and an area to sit and relax with other guests or to by oneself. The wood construction is beautiful and perfect for the location. It wasn't 'stuck-up' and we were happy to come and go as we pleased. From our first introduction on Day 1 to check out new were looked after when we needed it. We were not followed around, pandered to or hassled and if this is what you are looking for I would suggest booking a hotel suited for your needs. Our room was cleaned, towels changed and we had all we needed. Breakfast was simple, but suitable to start the day. The fresh fruit juice lovely as was the fresh cut fruit platter served every day with a smile. You will need a car or be very keen on hard tough steep walks up and down the road, so hire a car and enjoy travelling around Mahé. There are shops nearby, a lovely restaurant down the road where we watch fish swimming in the water while we ate our dinner. There were birds, geckos and primary forest and a mountain right outside our door. It was wonderful.

In writing any sort of comment it must be said I am acutely aware of the lengths owners of properties go to to ensure a guest feels welcome and to comment on things that may not be so well attended to seems awfully presumptuous of me. That said, a little improvement could be made by offering soap for the shower and investing in a good coffee machine. For the soap, maybe work with a local supplier, who you can also sell their products for. It did not affect us as we always bring our own. For coffee, Europeans are all high on coffee and a good cup in the morning goes a long way to making the day start well. We always had coffee and it was good, but you can make it great. Finally, and I am not sure how to suggest an improvement, but a few times the guests above us coming back, splashed some water on the floor which comes through the floor board gaps on the veranda. Again, for us it was something we were aware of but maybe there is a solution or perhaps a little notice for guests to be aware others may be below them. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read these only as suggestions, as I loved your place and want to only give you support. The above are not complaints and I did not mention them to the owner during our stay.

The setting and rooms were exactly like the pictures shown on their site! The rooms were clean, very good AC and pool was gorgeous. Breakfast was average, fresh fruit was lovely. There was a great tour company we used called Cliff n Coast! We had an amazing day seeing all the secret spots! Highly recommend!

The location is far from Resturants so you will have to pay for taxis if you don’t have a car. They do not serve lunch or dinner or have a bar so you really have to get all supplies before you return back to your room.

Location in the Forest Nice rooms but you can hear people from other rooms

The rooms are quite spacious. each room has a large and comfortable terrace. the terraces offer very beautiful views. the staff is polite and friendly.

the rooms require more maintenance and somewhere renovation.
