GODDESS Kandy

We loved everything about this property. The design, ambience and staff were very welcoming. It is a hideaway from the city. We wish we had spent more nights here exploring Kandy (an underrated city in our mind).

We didn’t realize it was outside of Kandy - our mistake. It was easy enough to get too via Tuk Tuk or train.

The hotel is nice, very comfortable to rest and disconnect.

As noted by other guests in their reviews, the property initially appears appealing but falls short in terms of cleanliness and is overpriced. The bathroom had stains all over, and when it rained, water leaked in, likely due to holes in the ceiling. The location is also quite far from Kandy, taking about 35-40 minutes by tuk-tuk. We encountered several issues during our stay related to the inflated prices of goods and services, which we didn’t experience at other places in Sri Lanka. It's clear that the establishment caters to tourists and charges excessively for everything. Upon arrival, we requested a tuk-tuk for a trip lasting around 2.5 hours, and they quoted an outrageous 15,000 LKR. Additionally, the prices for dinner and drinks are roughly double what you’d expect at a regular restaurant, with an added 10% service charge and a 3% credit card fee. although the breakfast offered according to the booking advert cost €0.10, the owner refused to give it to us unless we paid 7USD for each breakfast. We complained about this misleading advertisement through booking and all we got were some rather uncomfortable threats from the owner...

The host was exceptionally nice greeting us with a smile as were her staff members that were very helpful. The place is nicely decorated and has a homy feel. Breakfast that was included was generous as well. The area in which the property is located is very serene.

The bed was quite hard and the room we stayed in on the top floor lacked sunlight. Note that the place is impossible to get to if you do not have a driver and is not located anywhere near Kandy. Its at least 40 minutes considering the state of the roads. Nevertheless its a good choice if you dont mind the drive and want something quiet outside the hustle and bustle

It’s an authentically decorated boutique type of hotel

Unfortunately it’s a bit of a past glory infrastructure that is in need of some maintenance.

Everything from The top to the bottom at this remarkable place was amazing! The rooms, the staff (Namal, Chico and everyone else ❤️), Gaya (the hostess and her family 🤍)… she and the staff made our vacation more than excellent. We couldn’t expect that but we felt so welcomed and embraced that instead of staying four nights we extended our stay to nine! And it was a blast! Nice swimming pool, outside area, the second floor lounge with pool table. Gaya gave us so many recommendations and none of them disappointed us. It’s a real gem! Couldn’t recommend more:) We left this place with aching hearts and a huge want to come back with a group of friends:) Highly recommend to stay here even if you’re a solo traveler you will definitely be taken care of 🫶 P.S. my photos don’t do justice how this place is much more beautiful in reality🤩

The property was like a heaven on earth, so peaceful. I would recommend to anyone

Everything was amazing

You really feel at home since you cross the entrance door. Amazing atmosphere. Lovely pool area. I loved playing guitar with the owner and super good home cooking! Good for couples and families! Great great place!

That i stayed only one night :(

We loved our stay here. The best host and staff members in Sri Lanka - they go above and beyond. The food was great, the decor and designs are interesting and tasteful. Overall a very relaxing stay. Lastly, the highlights for us were the fireflies we saw from the balcony, and the animals.

Nothing - all went well and small things can be overlooked in this case. A bottle of water in the room would be an added bonus.
