GODDESS Kandy

Beautifully decorated, spacious property, nice pool, friendly/accommodating staff, generally relaxing atmosphere.

Location is far from Kandy (but we had a car). New (big) puppy is a bit boisterous but will mellow out as he grows up...

Goddess Hotel went above and beyond my expectations. We were immediately welcomed with a lovely cold drink and then shown our incredible rooms. My partner and my jaws dropped at how gorgeous the rooms were! There was incense burning and all the interior design was so tasteful and homely. Gaya hospitality made us feel instantly like we were at home. The staff were incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and looked after. The pool is stunning and the outside area is to die for! This was our favourite place we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka, if you’re in Kandy, do not miss!

Nothing it was perfect.

The hotel is quite pretty.

The host is extremely immature. After we gave her constructive feedback she got very defensive and refused to give us anymore advice, i.e, whether we could leave our bags at the botanical gardens. She didn’t like us telling her that we disliked the restaurant she recommended. We asked for authentic Sri Lankan food and she sent us to her friends English style pub with sports tv and terrible food that we sent back. She also refused our advice to put blankets in the room instead of a single sheet as we both couldn’t sleep because of the cold. The only other guest also had this issue and got given a smelly blanket. When we discovered how cold it was, it was past midnight and no one was around. We’ve stayed in 4 other hotels since, all provide light duvets! Also, we are dog owners but we arrived back late to her dog growling at us and no one to help move it so we could pass. Thankfully the taxi driver came to our aid. Check the distance, it is a 40 min drive from the main town.

GOODESS Kandy is a beautiful place built from a wonderful team. Gaya with her team was exceptional to support us in everything. Kindness and smiles are the perfect summary of our stay, with a cappuccino made in a perfect Christmas time.

What a little oasis the small hotel is. It’s so tastefully decorated, beautiful rooms. Gaya and her staff were the best. So helpful. Lovely pool area and gardens. Great breakfasts. We stayed here to see the kandy and go to see the elephants. So for us it was perfectly situated.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

Beautiful decor and attention to detail. Fantastic pool and common areas. We wanted to stay longer just to hang in this lovely space! The host Gaia was very helpful. Good location near train station, worth to rent a scooter and check the botanical garden!

Food service needs improvement.
