Belvedere Luxury Rooms - Breathtaking View

I think this is the experience that pushes me to hotels. Communication with host was very poor. I updated the day before we arrived, no reply via booking.com. Using the information on booking, I what’s apped the host and didn’t get a reply. Found my way to apartment and it wasn’t clear where it was. Eventually found it but no information from host. So I called and she apologetically provided code to get in. I told her not to worry. A lot of people haven’t been happy with the stairs. Not a problem for us but you’re going to struggle if you’ve got an injury or disability - or just out of shape - with heavy luggage. The room was nice, one good sized room with en-suite bathroom, a nice large TV, which was welcome given the impending poor weather. The view out of two windows okay, but great out of the third overlooking the harbour. Nice touch that the host left a couple of complimentary beers and water for us. No tea or coffee with the kettle, as mentioned in ‘welcome’ message. TV and Internet didn’t work and I messaged the host about this and that I wasn’t sure what the situation was with breakfast, as the reservation indicated that breakfast was included but I hadn’t received any information. I received a message in the early hours (230am) about vouchers left outside our room for breakfast for a cafe on the front but no acknowledgement about TV / Internet. The food at the cafe was quite good (very poor for vegans, a few options for vegetarians) but you only get one smaller dish and a drink - you have to pay the difference for a larger dish and a second drink. The views out across the promenade and water were lovely though. There were a couple of other minor issues - like the creaking window covers - but I didn’t want to message the host again without getting a response to my tv/Internet query. Still nothing. Noise and smell (pot) from locals / homeless downstairs wasn’t nice. The poor weather removed them on the last night. Decent shower.

The room was modern and clean, and the location was excellent.

Location and room were beautiful and the hostess who greeted us was super helpful and accommodating.

The air con did not work properly so we had to open the windows which didn’t give much relief it was very hot. With windows open it was very noisy so didn’t get a great nights sleep

There was no WiFi and both TV's did not work. The fan in the bathroom also did not work. The first two issues were highlighted straight away to the host and she said she would send people out to rectify this the following day. This never happened and then she stopped answering any of our messages - calls, texts and emails. This was completely unacceptable. The lack of WiFi is standard and without this we couldn't watch anything or go on any devices. Customer service was appalling.

The location was excellent with a great view out the bedroom window. Also loved the shared rooftop balcony. Room was big and had all that was needed. Breakfast was great too

The communication from the host was a little slow but ended up ringing direct to get answers.

This is a third floor walk up that is not represented in the booking materials. Three very high floors / 75 stairs. They claim parking, but it is street parking not their lot. They say breakfast but it’s actually at a restaurant 1/4 mile away. Frankly they don’t lie about the property they just don’t tell the truth. And the young lady who represents them takes no ownership of this deception.
