Palheiro do Malgas

Christina and Mario were wonderful hosts! We arrived the afternoon the power was out throughout the country and they were still happy to have us stay and we'd work together to navigate through the situation that was happening. Power was restored early evening so no need for flashlights, candles or cold showers! They are in a lovely quiet rural location but with quick access to places we wanted to explore in the area. They served a great breakfast every morning. The room was comfortable and has a nice little deck to sit and listen to the birds and the river nearby. I look forward to knowing when there Eco and Wellness Lodge is open so that I can go back with a group of friends to do some hiking in the area.

Property was secluded and full of nature. You can hear the birds and the river flowing in the distance. Very picturesque.

It was perfect for a couple who wanted a weekend away. The sound of the river was a nice bonus during the night. The breakfast was good and varied, enough to keep us full til lunch. The owners were very welcoming and helpful! We felt at home and had a wonderful time in the middle of Lousã.

Idyllic location, metres away from Cabril do Ceira, with the river as soundtrack. Comfortable room with all amenities needed included. Delicious homemade breakfast delivered at the doorstep daily. Great escape from urban life.

Heating system in not sufficient to heat up the room. Parking can be tricky. A swimming pool or jacuzzi option would be a great plus.

What I can say about this stay, was that it was exceptional. My partner and I were looking for a mini getaway from our town and needed quiet, peace, nature and tranquility. Cristina and Mario, the owners, provided that and more. Their hospitality is something that I will always cherish. I wish them nothing but success for the future, even the included breakfast you could see and feel was made with care. Cristina provided all the details we needed about the area, what to do, see and gave us the history of their area, which made us appreciate it even more. We ended up staying one more night. The room was cozy with a heater, they let us use their bikes to go along the trail that leads to the river. We also did the passadiços which was near by and had a phenomenal view We will be back to stay at their new accommodation “Fragas do Cabril” with spa facilities soon!

Nicely decorated little house with a beautiful view over the mountains. Nice owners and excellent breakfast. We were so thrilled to found this gem of a hide away.

Great hosts, beautiful, quiet, clean and charming place. Fantastic breakfast.
