Little Red School House

I only stayed three days here, but I still think about it all the time. Driving through the golden-green hills--arriving at a tiny century-old renovated schoolhouse, with lots of breakfast foods provided--and there are hot tubs out on the deck! And chickens for friends, giving egg-presents! I felt totally spoiled. Best of all, I went on a hike on their incredible on-site farm track--one of the more stunning walks of my life, and that was the case even when a fog came down, and I had to be rescued by Nic! Which was its own whole adventure. I hope to be able to go back someday. Meanwhile, please enjoy it for me.

Country living

The owner is super friendly. They served the pre booked dinner on time. Lamb Dinner and breakfast were amazing. We woke up in the middle of sleep to look at the starry sky. It is a must do activity for this stay.

We booked this as a one night stopover on the way back to Christchurch . A mistake we really should have allowed at least 2 or 3nights, It was fabulous , .. No need to say more !!!

That we couldn't stay longer and the hens only laid us two eggs, four would have been good

A very peaceful setting. Beautiful surroundings, loved the farm animals. Everything I required for a comfortable stay.

Nothing.

So relaxing, the only sound being the birds. Greeted by the free range hens and feeding two lambs with bottle milk. Our temporary home was warm with a great shower and comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast of cereal, yoghurt, toast, honey, tea or real coffee. Nic was a perfect host

Awesome location with great hosts! Feeding the animals was a lovely bonus activity.
