Vivenda Balou

Owners were very friendly and easy to communicate, breakfast was delicious and home made, location is very central to explore all Algarve.

We had one of two rooms in the owner's villa, a 15 minute walk into town. So it was a very personal experience, rather than an hotel. Our room and bathroom were spacious, a little dated, but very well kept. Beautifully maintained gardens, and the bonus was the pool which was used twice. We also used the complimentary coffee/tea in the poolside bar where we relaxed, away from our room, especially when wet. Plus we had a private courtyard to sit out in, and a rack to dry swimwear or laundry on. Breakfasts on the owners' terrace were more than ample with delicious home made items, and always some variation to the breakfast contents each day. Hans and Jacqueline put a lot of effort into looking after their guests!

The homemade bread and jams were absolutely delicious, and the hosts were very knowledgeable about the local area. The resident dog, Balou, is a wonderful elderly and friendly dog who is always pelased to see guests. Ample parking and lovely poolside areas to sit. Would highly recommend.

Lovely, spacious room with ensuite facilities, very clean with friendly hosts. Breakfast was a good selection, served on the upper balcony with views over looking the Silves valley. Lovely pool with mini bar area. Plenty of seating around the pool so you can catch the sun at all times of the day.

There was nothing I didn't like.

Our hosts Jacqueline and Hans were great. They communicated with us about arrival, gave us lots of ideas of places to visit, and best routes for travelling. I also appreciated that Hans made me bread for breakfast as I am gluten intolerant, a real treat. The house was just outside Silves, but really easy to get into the main town, and it was set up on the hill so the views were lovely. Nice to have a pool to come back to after a busy day out and about, and access to an outside kitchen and bar area.

Incredible view, facilities and the couple running it are lovely. The breakfast is fantastic with a stunning view over the mountains Would recommend having a car if possible to travel to beach though
