The Greenleaf House

Management was very responsive and thorough in answering questions. The whole house was clean and well maintained. Everything worked perfectly and parking was available every day I stayed even with only 3 spaces available. It was nice having private access to the bathroom (even though the bath was shared).

I wish there had been a chair and small table in my room because the bed was high. It would have been easier to put on socks and shoes and nice to have a private space to work on my computer or sit to watch the TV rather than only having the bed as an option. There was ample room in the room to add one.

What breakfast? There was no breakfast offered. Check in instructions mentioned the kitchen and stated you could bring in your own food to make meals. The kitchen was nice, modern, and clean. The common areas were very nice and welcoming. They were also clean. The location in Rogers Park was ideal and the neighborhood is one of my favorites. Perfect for visiting my daughter who lives a few blocks away. The two common bathrooms upstairs were clean and well maintained. Shower, toilet, and sink all worked. Having an available parking space was a huge help.

More information needs to be provided on the limitations of the property. Make sure its clear to people they will be using shared bathrooms and they should bring their own bath soap and shampoo. My room was at the end of the hall and very cold. The bed had a sheet and one thin blanket. There were a few extra towels and a pillow in the hallway but no extra blankets so I had a miserable night of sleep. Instructions for getting in on arrival were confusing. The key pad "located above the door handle" was digital and actually part of one black, opaque unit. You can't see the keys or tell there is keypad there until you poke the face a few times. I and at least one other guest struggled to figure it out while standing outside the entry door. A little more description in the instructions would have been a huge help.

It was very cold, so we caught a cold. The stairs are very inconvenient, it was very difficult to go up and down. After booking, I wrote a letter that due to an injury I needed a room on the 1st floor, but in the end I was given a room on the 2nd floor. There were also reviews about breakfast, but there were no breakfasts.Because of the cold in the room it was very uncomfortable to live. Although the carpets are cleaned, they are dirty, the floors, chairs, beds creak very much.

I liked the water bottles, the location, the super clean bathrooms, bunk beds, and most of all, the value.
